ComicCon Attendees Protest Possible Move to Anaheim

Obviously, this is for people who actually go... but how would you be affected if ComicCon moved? I live in San Diego, so it would make things a bit tougher. Even though I didn't go this year, I love ComicCon. But thats just my case.:?

Side note: The man dressed as Captain America is a teacher from my old high school, he's hilarious. He brought his goat and skunk to protest.

That kind of LA proximity would just further it into being a movie and TV event, rather than a comic event :(

Makes sense for what it's primarily become: a showcase for all things except comics.

I'm not even sure why they still call it ComicCon. Should be called EntertainmentCon instead.

I've always wanted to go to Comic Con. I've been to both Anaheim and San Diego, and I think San Diego is way better.

New York already has an annual ComiCon. Unlike the one in San Diego, it's actually about comics. Seattle has a good one, too.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. :(

I didn't go this year because it sold out way faster than I was used to. I mean, its cool that its a lot more popular now but most of those people don't even know about comics, the small artist booths, etc. Ohwell.

I think Comic-Con should stay in San Diego. It's a really nice area where it already is.

You'll kill ComicCon with that move. It should stay here in San Diego. Their main concern is the size of the convention center but San Diego just agreed to expand it by 2015.

yeah i know but we dont get big celebrities, screening to movies before they release and comic book movie footage well before its released to public

If celebrities are not willing to go to NY now, I doubt they'd be willing to go out then, even if the main show was moved there. I think what's convenient for SDCC is the fact that it is in Southern California, since here is pretty much the entertainment capital of the world. It's easier for studios to go there since it's closer by than NY.

Doesn't Anaheim have the largest convention center in California? Why would it kill comic con?

At any con, people whose names are in the program are generally paid, as well as having their travel and accommodations paid for; it's part of getting to use their name to promote your event
