Do you support communism over capitalism? And do you even like communism?

Where's the "Moderate" option?
Both systems if fully implanted are crap. Even America doesn't have a completely capitalist system.
I quite a bunch of commies. All of them cool people :D. Though I would probably classify them as "Moderate Democratic Communists" or something.

I don't really know how to answer the poll; the topic title asks how we feel about communists, whereas the poll asks how we feel about communism, which are two entirely different questions.
At any rate, to answer the question in the thread title, those who support communism tend to be naive, well-intentioned individuals who are not sufficiently well-acquainted with the human inclination to abuse an established system to undermine its spirit for their own personal gain. The same could be said about those who support fully deregulated capitalism, too. I cannot help but admire their optimism about the human spirit were it only liberated from the shackles placed upon it, but at the same time I cannot help but feel a bit perturbed at their ability to ignore the precedent in human behavior throughout history, an ignorance which is largely necessary for the long-term maintenance of those positions.
Is it me, or have you Americans suddenly been transported back to the 1950's? All you seem to be talking about lately is communism and socialism.LordXelNaga
We haven't been transported back to the '50s; we've just had Democrats elected for the first time in ten years. :P
Whatever floats their boats, I guess.
As long as it's not restricting their freedom... i.e. not allowing them to leave
[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]You can't really compare communism vs capitalism. Socialism vs Capitalism you can. Communism encompasses more than economic ideals. Anyways, communists are people too and should be treated like people. They are not anymore evil than capitalists. LordXelNagaNo, you're wrong, Communism is not more than economic ideals. This is where a lot of people seem to confuse Communism with Leninism/Stalinism/Maoism etc. No, I'm not wrong. Communism is not an economic system by itself. It does involve a form of economics, known as socialism.
Communism I have to admit is a very good concept but I've yet to see an actual communist country go without government which I think Lenin stated was the last stage for a communist country. That said I'm far to attached to private ownership, I'm a dirty Capitalist :P.
I didn't tap dance all those morse code messages to the allies 'till my shoes filled with blood just to role out the welcoming carpet for the reds!
Or something like that...
Regardless, you can't equalize everyone socially or economically if they haven't earned it. In the words of Andrew Ryan: "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?" Any system will run smoothly if people all stay within the parameters of holds said system together. But people suck and therefore abuse the system. Capitalism caters for this better than communism does. Just ask the Soviets.
Capitalism doesn't work either. That's why we use mixed economic practices.Communism is the perfect type of society in theory. However, it never ever works.

I think it could work in a smaller setting like a village where everyone knows everyone, but yea definitely not on a massive scale thanks to corruption.Eh..i don't believe in communism...meaning..i don't believe it will ever work as intended...

Well i don't know if it would even work in a small village...eventually some people would become corrupt..Eh..i don't believe in communism...meaning..i don't believe it will ever work as intended...

Communism = Great idea, but it doesn't work in practice.
Capitalism = Great idea, but deson't work in practice.

It would be nice to see a combnation of the two. But I don think most americans will approve on it
I think communism is an amazing system. Sure it's failed massively every time it's been implemented, but next time will be different.
