Computer program for making music

This might sound nerdy but the reason I'm looking for a computer program to make music is because i like making videos using Widows Movie Maker but whenever I try to use a song in it Windows comes up and yells at me. Last year in choir my teacher showed us a couple programs on the Internet you can download for free but me not being the most attentive person forget them after ten seconds, not thinking i would need to what what they are.

So what is a free download on the Internet that lets you create music and listen to it? His let you drop notes onto a Staff directly on your computer and give each note a intsrument value ("This note will be a guitar, this note here will be a drum") and all that, not a racording program but Use Your Mouse And Keyboard To Make A Song Directly On Your Computer program.

Anvil Studios is a free midi sequencer I use sometimes. It can do what you want, the problem is that it's midi so the quality naturally sucks.

I've got a lot of other software that I use to write MP3's, but they all cost money.

there's a lot of programs like that but I'm pretty sure you are either thinking of sibelius or fruity loopsMrMC7992
