Yeah, even urgent matters. I'm too complacent and so far, I haven't suffered from any severe, or even minor, consequences from putting important things off. But that's just it, I'm worried that this is gonna bite me in the ass one day. I feel I can barely be responsible for myself, let alone other people and I don't think that it's acceptable at 23 years old when I'm living away from my parents. I don't know what to do about this.

Procrastination? Only way you're gonna overcome that is with a conscious effort to not put things off anymore, dude. Nothing else to it.

I'm saying that I'm not quick enough to solve even urgent matters because of my complacency and because of this, I don't feel very responsible.

Sounds like you're just lazy. Everyday that doesn't bite you in the ass is a lucky day. You need to make it a point to solve your problems right now. NOW. The problem is that you give real problems low priorities. Solving your problems should be right up there with taking a shower but it's not and so you will continue to procrastinate. This will probably continue until:

A) You make a conscious effort to solve problems and give them high priority

B) Life smacks you in the face and you wish you considered A.

You don't want B to happen.

I've heard of this "Number 2" rule on Lifehacker. Answer the phone in 2 seconds, reply to texts in 2 mins, reply to emails in 2 days. I dunno how much it works, though. I would recommend to set yourself goals.

Write things down, follow those goals. Dont think, just do it, as Nike ad would say.

Seriously, this. When some issue comes along and you get the strong urge to procrastinate, you simply have to be strong enough to resist that urge and deal with the matter in a timely manner.

Reward yourself, like if you focus on getting one thing done later on you'll do something you enjoy

Other than that, nothing to it but to do it. Just force yourself into it, because if you get it done you'll be much happier in the long run

Sounds like you just need to learn to grow up and get your priorities straight.
