Conflict in Moderation

I was banned today from a forum of a website that shall remain nameless as I'm sure there's a rule against that too, but it was a complete fallacy. The mods are a joke, they banned me because I called one of their new users "stupid", which I did ironically because some other moron was giving him a hard time, and he knew I was doing itironically to stick up for him. Right after that, the aforementioned moron cussed at me and he's still posting away. It's not that important, but these are real people behind these computers and it's interesting to see how far they'll go to uphold their nerd buddy system. Gamespot mods would never pull that garbage now would they? Ever been banned or kicked out of something under ridiculous pretenses?

On the site, they have this dumb filter and these dumb rules. They say they want to keep the site mature, so they filter the word "lulz" into "Big **** in my ***." Sounds really mature, right? This one time, a guy posted lulz, it got filtered, and when he went back to see it, he thought he was hacked. I told him it was because it was a filter for lolz *that's with an O not a U*, and I was banned for "censor bypassing", even though I actually thought it was lolz with an o at the time. We're not talking about a short suspension or a week long ban. I got a perma-ban.

thts not worse than teh gamefaqs boards with very inconsistent moderation w/ no reasoning.

you can get moderated for having bad spelling and grammar in posts (wtf)

you can get moderated for asking legitimate questions too, while the joke questions are all fine.

Considering your response to the TC in the suicide thread, I'm not at all surprised. Even if you were trying to lighten up the mood as you stated, sarcasm on forums is mostly lost on those intent on maintaining order. Mods err on the side of caution, you probably should to if you don't wish to be banned.
