Alright guys, I wear glasses. I have been wearing them for the last ten years. I am getting tired of having to adjust them everyday, sometimes they feel like they are sliding down my nose and I have to keep putting them back into place. I am also getting quite tired of the cleaning them like I have to do everyday, even if I just lay the on the table and go to sleep, when I wake up there are smudges all over them like someone had their fingers all over the lenses. So my question for you who have contacts, do you reccommend them? How do they feel? Are they easy to get in and out? If there are any pro's and con's that you know of from wearing them, I would like to know.

I choose option three: Hay. Having contacts have its pros and cons. I've never been in need of glasses or contacts so I can't say which option you should go for.

I like my contacts. I don't really feel them after I put them in and once you get use to them they are easy to take in and out.

Overall, they're great. Would recommend.

ive been thinking about getting contacts too and the only bad part about them is that if you where them for too long, don't replace them once in a while or shove them in the back of your eye it will hurt

I wore contacts my senior year in high school and now wear glasses once again. I really liked wearing them and liked them in part because my glasses annoyed me so badly. Now I where my glasses again for whatever reason.

Contacts are not too difficult to put in especially after you've worn them a while. Some people it might be harder to get used to but they're not bad. If you get the ones you take out at night then you'd have to clean them each use. Also, your eyes might feel tired more often. Some have more problems than others with contacts, it's really something you have to try. As your glasses are annoying you so badly then I'd say give it a try, if only to have the experience of seeing without glasses for once...

I see, that makes a lot of sense. The only thing I am unsure of is the whole "touching" my eyes thing. I went last year to see if I could get laser eye surgery to fix my sight, but they said I would have to wait three years because of asigmatism is so bad and the fact that my eyes move too much under the light they need to use to fix it(they said in three years they might be able to use infra-red for the surgery). But yeah, the glasses are seriously annoying. Espeicially when I clean them right before I watch something on TV, to sit down and have a smudge that wasn't there after I cleaned them.

I've been wearing contacts for about 3 years now and I feel much better with them than with glasses. Unless you're kind of queasy about touching your eye or something, there's nothing really difficult about putting them in. It's a bit difficult at first but once you get used to it it's no problem at all.

Though the only problem I've had with them is that lately they're becoming really irritating after I've had them on for a few hours. Maybe it's time I went to get my eyes checked again and maybe a new pair, but the feeling is almost like when you have an eyelash or something that makes it's way up under the eyelid. It's really bothersome sometimes and I end up having to take them out. That's about it really, other than that I've never had a problem with them. If you're tired of wearing glasses, then by all means, get yourself a pair.

You really don't touch your eyes. You can slide the contact on pretty easily, I mean just wash your hands before you put them in and take them out, that will minimize any odds of anything happening.

I think I'm going to at least give them a try. it does sound easy, but I just don't want to get them in there and have pain like when you have an eyelash in your eye like elblanquito_81 said, since I have a tendancy to shut my eye that has a lash in it tightly in those situations. Heck, I can't even open my eyes after I've had my head underneath the shower or after dunking my head in a pool, I have to get a towel.

I'd say no. I would be far too lazy to take contacts out all the time, I'd much rather just take off my glasses.

I have contacts man and they are much more tolerable than glasses so I say Yay. I mean, initially, putting them in and taking them out is kind of annoying and sometimes hard to do, but in a couple of weeks you'll like them.

I've had contacts for about 4 years and I really couldn't go back to glasses again. They're mostly fine but occasionally they can be absolutely killer, wearing an uncomfortable/dirty pair of contacts is like pure death and will ruin your day.

Overall I reccomend them, putting them in and taking them out becomes a non-issue after about a week and apart from those rare bad days they're so much better than glasses.

I use the ones that you can have in for weeks. I had glasses for quite a while then switched to contacts and I say they both have their share of cons and pros. I've had contacts for a while now and I'm thinking of switching back. Contacts are awesome when they're good but when they're bad, damn it sucks.-_-

I got em just for the heck of it (never needed to wear glasses, just had a bit blurry vision seeing afar). Its quick, easy, and painless. The only thing that sucks is you might fall asleep in them and wake up irritated.

Yeah, I still can't do that either. Believe me, putting contacts in will seem hopeless at first but it quickly becomes an automatic process. Don't worry about it.

It's not pain really, just like a lot of discomfort. Some people get that feeling and some don't. I think it could be remedied with some eyedrops but I can never get the damn things to drop in my eye. But yeah, go for it. I've never had a problem with them until just recently, so it's probably just time for a visit with the eye doctor and maybe getting a new pair.

id say yay, there a bit difficult to get in when you first start off, but i think this goes with age, i was young when i had mine, about 11 and it was a pain in the ass to put them in, and it was difficult too, but i think i just didnt want to put them on because i thought it would hurt, but id say there better than glasses, you cant really feel them either. its up to you.

Contacts are great as long as you take care of them and take them out every night. Sleeping with them in can hurt your eyes. In any case, once you get used to them (about a week or two), you don't even feel that they are in.

Firstly, do you have astigmatism? If you do, trying to find a pair of contacts for you is hard, or virtually impossible.

You're joking right? Ever heard of toric lenses? Toric contact lenses are lenses for people with astigmatism. Companies do manufacture contact lenses for people with astigmatism (Acuvue, Focus, FreshLook, PureVision, Soflens, ProClear, Torisoft, and others).

Yep, I've got astigmatism, and the contacts I wear (Acuvue) work great. I don't even feel them.

Yes, I have pretty bad astigmatism. But if there are lenses out there that are for people with astigmatism, it might not be as bad as I have pictured it in my mind. Thanks a lot everyone for the advice.
