I have a problem when I take control of my dreams. Shortly after I take control, I wake up. Anyone know why?

Depends how severly I do it, I can move in my dreams, but I can't actually change the event. Which is always a akward moment for some reason.

That's the first step of Lucid Dreaming. You have to realize you're dreaming first, then you can take control of it. I imagine no one can really keep hold for too long without some degree of practice though.

For those of you who don't know, it's pretty simple to learn how to control your dreams. First you have to think about what you want to look at that will make you realize you're dreaming. In dreams, if you look at something once and then look at it again, it will be different. I choose to look at a clock or something similar. After that you'll know you're dreaming and you can take complete control and do anything you want. My problem is that I wake up really quick after taking control.

I like to look at clocks, also, but I also try and put my finger through my hand. Sometimes the finger-through-hand doesn't work, though. That's when I check the clock.

I actually did it a lot like 3 weeks ago for a few days, but now I can't seem to do it :(

I can beat anyone up in my dreams. I will catch your fist as you throw a punch at me. And then I like to say some really cheesy line like "Welcome to my nightmare." Something really cheesy, like from Power Rangers or something.

iget that sometimes, if you want to keep dreaming you have to be subtle, you can't suddenly change everything you have to have it change atleast slightly logically

i.e walking into a shop instead of just appearing init (i'm pretty sure you don't dream about this but it's just an example)
