This topic is created in regards to another irrevelant post which I spelled Corea with a "C" which set off many people to deride me and attempt to belittle me (below)
"this guy can't even spell his own nationality lulz!"
"junior, its spelled with a k"
A little historical background: Corea was originally spelled with a "C" until the Japanese (under the forced oppressive annexation) forced the Coreans to change it. Why? Look below.
"Korea wasn't always spelled with a "K". In fact, if you ask any of the students, they always spell it with a "C". Teacher, it's Corea, not Kora. Apparently Japan didn't feel important enough when they conquered "Corea". C is before J, you see. That just wouldn't do. They were the ones that changed it to Korea with a "K"."
Therefore, spelling Corea with a "K" is pretty offensive in a historical context.. Japan has constantly been oppressive to Corea and still is today. In Japan ,there is a actually a racist term for Coreans (I guess you could say the equivilant to the "n" word) because they think they are racially superior.
North Corea is a very tragic country. It continuously condemns Japan, but considering how oppressed Coreans have been, its pretty legitimate. Its like a country that has been bullied around so much that they have resorted to the isolated Communist country. Even today, Japan has erased much of the war crimes they committed upon the Coreans out of high school history books.
