Covers and remakes that were better than the original?

I was having trouble thinking of any. All i could come up with was the SR-71 cover of Let it Whip by Dazz Band.

Um...I don't know, but the first one that comes to mind is All Time Low's cover of 'Umbrella.'

This. Actually, pretty much all the covers Nirvana did at Unplugged were better than the originals IMO.

Michael Cera and Ellen Page - Anyone Else but You

The original Moldy Peaches version just sounded dreary and depressive - the Ellen/Michael collaboration for Juno sounded much, much better.

Trivium's cover of Master of Puppets. I don't like Metallica's version at all.

Little Wing and Voodoo Child - Stevie Ray Vaughan. I think both covers are better, especially with Little Wing. The only thing though is I feel Voodoo Child by both Hendrix and SRV are both amazing in different ways.

That's all I can think of that I thought was actually better than the original. I can think of a few covers that were about as good as the original (Iron Maiden's version of Doctor, Doctor by UFO, Dream Theater's version of Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding by Elton John, etc.) but those are the only ones that really made me go,"Wow, They've taken the idea of the original song and made it shine in such a way as I'd almost think they wrote it themselves."

Muse: House of the Rising Sun. Really good.

Disturbed: Land of Confusion. I love it.

Atreyu: You give love a bad name. Its a personal favorite of mine, not sure about any one else.
