So about a month ago it was revealed that JK Rowling had written and released a new book back in April under a pseudonym. Has anyone read it? What did you think? Are you interested in the book? Description: "After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Strike is down to one client, and creditors are calling. He has also just broken up with his longtime girlfriend and is living in his office. Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: His sister, the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, known to her friends as the Cuckoo, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man." Reviews prior to the reveal were few and far between, but they were positive. General consensus now is that the book is a solid mystery novel that is quite serviceable but doesn't do anything particulary new or exciting(which is more then fine imo). About halfway through and enjoying it. A bit slow at this point. Much more fun and light then her last book. So what say you ot

Well it's better than Casual Vacancy, which was kind of disappointing to me.

I've seen this book always prominently displayed at bookstores. Synopsis didn't interest me. I'm waiting a couple more weeks to read Stephen King's next book, Dr. Sleep, supposed to be ""a return to balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on horror"", sounds nice. I never read Harry Potter, so Rowling's name really doesn't do it for me.

This is probably my most anticipated 'thing' of the year so far. Cannot wait to read this book.

I hear it's a sequel to The Shining, but I haven't read that book. I placed a hold on it through the local library system, so they'll ship a copy to the branch I requested and hopefully I get through that before Dr. Sleep releases. That should come in a day or two, just enough time for me to finish the last pages of IT.
