Curious - What job did you have while in college?

I'll be attending university full-time in the Fall. With that said, I'd also like to continue being employed. Many of you have probably held some sort of job while attending school full-time, so your insight as to what type of job you held (and what company employed you) is valuable to others. Thank you in advance for your responses.

I'm enrolled full-time finishing up my first year atm, and recently became employed again. I work at DSW.

I've restricted my search to multiple positions within: (1) 'Big Box' retail, (2) hotels, (3) movie theaters, and (4) bowling alleys. Nothing particularly exciting, I know, but they have ideal hours of operation.

Another thought that was floating around in my head was to be a 9-1-1 telephone operator.

I'm still curious to hear more input, though.

I've had the same job since summer before senior year of high school(third year of college now). Only reason I've kept this crap-30-cents-above-minimum-wage job is because of a girl. :oops:Agent-Zero

Up until this point I've worked as a day camp leader with my municipality.

Now I've gotten a student job with the local mil

5 months of work + careful budgeting have allowed me not to be forced to work for the semester(s) (No student loans either)

Unless your desperate avoid retail, you usually get minimum wage and people s*** on you.

College for me (16 - 18) I was a professional dishwasher

I worked in retail.

I worked at a sandwich shop in high school and also some in college. I'm still in college, and I want to get a job at a bank.

Right now I'm in college and I'm working two jobs: project manager assistant at an FF&E contracting company and editor-in-chief for the economics and politics academic journal (although the latter doesn't pay anything).

junior and senior year i worked as a tutor for the engineering department. basically i'd got sit in a conference room a few times a week and any students who needed help with their engineering core courses ( math, physics etc.. ) i'd help them. ( assuming i had taken the classes ). wasn't a bad job. not many students took advantage of the service so i was able to spend a lot of the time getting my own homework done.

then over the summer i either worked as a delivery driver for pizza hut or did temp work to make the bulk of the money i'd need to get through the school year.

I spent about a year working as a sales associate at Victoria's Secret, definitely not my finest year. After that I applied at bookstores and such around/on campus, found something there.

I'm working in a supermarket right now. It pays the uni fees and it gets me money for all the luxuries I want :D

I was working in a fast food restaurant and then i waited tables for 4 years. I also had a part time work at college - fixing and setting up new computer systems for faculty and staff.

Worked at an electronics store. Also did 2 paid internships during the summer.

I worked as a programmer. I am still in College, but I am not working at the moment.

I've managed fine without a job so far, though I did do some campus tours for applicants on the admissions days. I'm supposed to be getting paid ₤160 for doing 7 tours, I'm still waiting on thatEJ902
