I lived in Japan for two years and i'd give them a thumbs down. The ones you see on TV are by far the minority. I mean there's women on TV like Britney Spears that look pretty doable back in the day but there are girls you could probably find in your own city that look a lot better than her. There's a far smaller chance of that happening in Japan.
But just rating japanese cute chicks I'd say they are pretty damn cute.

Thumbs up... but they definitely aren't anywhere near what you would actually find in Japan. They are in the media for a reason... so its best not to be mislead by it.

Agreed. This is how it is for pretty much every ethnicity; there's some very attractive girls and some not quite so attractive... I must admit that I find the attractive Asian women to be the most attractive though, probably because I'm Chinese lol.

This. Don't get me wrong, there's some cute normal girls walking around, but most of the "hot" women are models and celebrities.
