[QUOTE="Sajo7"]She could've just turned in $1000, that way shes honest and rich.B05T0N
I don't suppose you have $64k in cash?
How the hell do you lose $64k in cash? SilentFireXYeah?!?! What kind of idiot walks around with 64k on them and loses it. I can tell you if it was me you would find me in the living room, sitting on an arm chair with a f**king bullet hole in my head. Also even though she did turn in the money I believe if no one claims it with proof then she'll get to keep the money or half of it. I think she has to wait 90 days though.

It would certainly help with the bills.
Well... if the dumb person who lost it had £64k how much does the person who found it already have + 64K = a lot richer than me : [

Nice to know there's still people with morals in this worldgun65not everyone has the same moral standards :|
and really, where did 64 thousand in a black duffel bag come from
and no ones going to claim it,its going to sit there for a week, and is just going to be spent to make a new room for our town hall
and what if a poor person took it,who had kids,no job,and was homeless?would it be immoral then?
dont act like you wouldnt take it either, money changes people.

Of course people don't have the same moral standards. That's why there is crime in the world. You can try to rationalize it all you want, but taking $64 000 that doesn't belong to you isn't an upstanding thing to do. You're taking something that belonged to someone else. Frankly it doesn't matter whether or not the person could afford to lose it. If you want people to respect YOUR property you need to respect other peoples' property. It's that simple. Obviously, you would be pretty ticked off if someone took $64 000 from you and rationalized a BS 'explanation' for why it was morally acceptable to do so.
If a poor person steals, it is still wrong. You may feel more sympathy for a poor person's circumstances, but the objective person will not deny that stealing is never right. If you steal from a drug dealer, you yourself are still committing an immoral act. Your actions are your own, and are in no way connected to what the drug dealer did to initially acquire the money.
As for your last statement, I am personally acquainted with a great number of people who would turn the money in, because they, like me, would not feel comfortable taking something that does not belong to them. It's not as uncommon as you may think. Though it seems the majority of people are self-centred and greedy, there are those who are capable of understanding that they are hurting someone else when they take something that does not belong to them, and so will always turn in a lost belonging or lost money.

Sheesh... some of you people really need to experience adult hood. $25 000 / year is plenty to have a small home and garage, provided you are very careful with budgeting and live in an affordable location.

This is what mortgages are for, my friend. Few people have the capital to buy a house outright, but most people have the ability to earn enough to afford a mortgage. It's the desire that is lacking in some.

listen dude, get off your high horse for a second.first of all,you act like finding 64000 on the road somewhere and keeping it,is in the same ball park as going toa single, church going mothershouse, pointing a gun at there head, pulling the trigger.and taking all there money.you are wrong.as for your last statment, you might want to re-read my last statement.money changes people.and maybee the 64000 isnt yours, but it shure isnt who ever drops it either.and if someone found 64000 of mine on the ground somewhere, that i was iresponsible enough to leave it there, the only person i would blame is myself.
