Dave Mustaine is one of the most devoted guys to his band I've ever seen.He writes all the songs, he sings while playing some killer riffs, and he can dish out a mean solo too.Plus, not many people could get kicked out and deserted by their best friends, far far away from home and get over it the way he did.

Seriously, very weird choice since they are both terrible.

Glad to see Mustaine *My 2nd fav guitarist* and Criss Oliva *Fav. by far, see avatar* made the book. Good to see someone write a decent top 100 list. Still, 20 and 19 are very terrible choices.

guys hetfield is better than hammet. not to mention hetfield contributes soo much more to metallica.. nimatoad2000

agree, hetfields creativity as a guitarist is far superior than kirks technicality.

4,5,16,20 are the most over rated guitarist

19 should be no where near this list

and i personally would switch mustaine and petrucci.

Dont get me wrong im a dave man, but petrucci is pretty amazing and well rounded

Terrible list, just saw this yesterday. I smiled at over half of it thinking to myself, "Really? Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Herman Li, Mick Thompson, Zakk Wylde, and Dave Mustaine?" Mustaine could've been top 15 possibly (Friedman way over him definately), but Hammett, Hetfield, Thompson, Wylde, and Li are not exactly great guitarists. The rest is fine, although Morello shouldn't have been up there either.
