@nintendoboy16: Oh wow, that's kind of a shock. I remember years ago when he did a commercial for XM/Sirius satellite radio, and people began speculating that he was ill because he looked kind of sickly. But I hadn't heard anything else about his health really since then, figured he was doing better.
It's kind of interesting that Bowie should die now, just a short time after Scott Weiland. Weiland was heavily inspired by Bowie, among other musicians, and adopted a lot of his style into his persona. Actually, he mentioned Bowie in the final interviews he did, I guess. (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/scott-weiland-talks-about-his-legacy-david-bowie-in-final-video-interviews-20151205) Bowie inspired countless musicians, I remember reading that much of NIN's TheDownward Spiral was conceptualized while Trent Reznor was listening to Low, I believe.
I've been a fan of his music for some time now, though I still don't know what my favorite David Bowie song would be. I was always fond of "Starman", "Ashes to Ashes" and "Life on Mars?" among other songs, but I still never even got around to listening to a lot of his stuff. I always liked the haunting, warm song and video for his 90's song "Thursday's Child", though:
RIP, David Bowie.
His music was like , the soundtrack of my life . and will be for years . He'll never be forgotten . Goodbye Starman !
R.I.P. Goblin King. I'll be watching Labryinth tomorrow.
Same here, Bowie made that movie awesome. Sad that Hollywood was in talks making another Labyrinth movie and was considering bringing back Bowie as well.
David Bowie was a true musical genius imo. One of the greatest if not the greatest rock stars of all time. So many solid albums and to think he was in the middle of making a comeback :(
How the **** do we lose Scott Weiland, Lemmy Kilmeister, and now David Bowie in just over a months time? Are they putting together some special concert in heaven or something?
May he R.I.P. Not someone I regularly listen to, but I have a hell of a lot of respect for the man especially seeing as he was a major inspiration to a lot of bands I DO regularly listen to.
RIP , he was a true legend and his songs inspired a lot musician around the world ...
**** cancer. Bowie was one of my personal favorite artists of all time. Right there with Freddie Mercury and Micheal Jackson. His music and movies will always be a part of my life. I was just saying how I can't wait to watch Labyrinth with my expected child (June 5th)
RIP Goblin King
Wow! I feel that David was so great. I heard he was great in "Ziggy Stardust" (which has appeared most recently in Fantasia: Music Evolved):
And he was also great in "The Man Who Sold the World" (which also most recently appeared in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as a Midge Ure cover):
But it's still so great. R.I.P. David Bowie.
I'm watching Jim Henson's The Labyrinth in honor of him! Loved that movie, and his music soundtrack to it

Haven't you ever heard that Death strikes thrice?
@angeldeb82: Rock Band 3 had Ziggy Stardust in it's vanilla version and it's one of the most frequently played songs on my end.
David Bowie had no place in my life. I'd be lying if I said this news phased me. Condolences to his family though.
*dies two days after releasing final studio album*
Guy was devoted to his craft till the end.
My local rock radio station did a tribute to him all day today and there were so many songs I never knew were Bowie and have been part of my life for well over 20 years. He will be missed.
Never heard of this guy till today but RIP
Seriously? Do you live under a rock by any chance?
