I haven't finished watching the foreign version yet. I stopped watching after the old guy got sodomized. It just didn't hold my interest.

I think it needs to be pointed out that this trailer contains a cover of Led Zepplin by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails with Karen-O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on vocals. I mean holy ****.

That's the worst part of the trailer if you ask me.

Music is awful. Everything else looked good, despite that there was no dialogue.

Dude won an Oscar for his last score; it was also his first score, which he started and completed in three weeks. Him > You. :P Also sammy, two of those three movies are highly rated. Only Aliens 3 got a negative reception, so fair point on that one i guess. Still, he has a good track record.

Panic Room isn't rated very highly. The less said about Alien 3, the better. The Game is probably my least favorite of his. In fact, I would say I hate it. It has one of the most implausible endings I've ever seen.

I'm kind of mixed on Fincher as a whole. I love Zodiac and The Social Network. I like Se7en a lot, though I like it less and less with each viewing. I think Fight Club is one of the most overrated movies. Benjamin Button was just utterly forgettable. Panic Room is just laughably bad.

Its a neat trailer even though there isn't much established to go by. I am still highly anticipating this film though. Pretty indifferent with the music in the trailer, but I loved Reznor's work with The Social Network.

Panic room has a solid 77% on RottenTomatoes. I'd consider that a decent movie if you ask me.

I'm really failing to see what was interesting about that trailer. Though I never had much interest when I saw the trailers for the European ones a year or two a ago either.

It's largely positive. :/ The point is simple; it's not a bad film. Why even argue? I just said he's an awesome director. Any need?

I'm not going to watch that trailer (far too many scripts running on that page).

Either way, I'm still looking forward to the film.

Remakes of foreign films are rarely good (especially when the film is only two years old). I'll keep low expectations for this and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised

There is a direct Youtube link if its more to your liking. (Just search The girl with the dragon tattoo red band trailer)

In defense of David Fincher, he does claim in several interviews that the studio destroyed what he had originally shot for Alien 3. How true that is, I'm not sure, but that is what he claims.

In any case I'm quite looking forward to this. I'm a big fan of the books and a big fan of David Fincher.

Never saw the originals, but this looks fairly interesting. Music wise, I think it was pretty unique the way they did the cover, but I can't say I liked it very much. I did love Reznor's work on TSN though.

I dislike them protraying the goth girl being having troubles. :( I don't like those stereotypes. Goth is a style. And people should not abuse it and use it in the stereotype.magicalclick

not sure if youve read the books. or seen the films. but she really isnt portrayed as what i would call goth in the movies. id give it a chance. quite good.

The trailer was pretty cool. I loved the foreign version, so I'm looking forward to the American version. I wonder how it'll hold up the foreign one.

Looks good. I still need to watch the original version. I don't mind watching movies in subs it's just that after reading the epic books, I thought the movie would disappoint like some other films i.e. Let the right one in (Original swedish movie, haven't seen the american remake).

Some friends of mine won't be happy over this. They loved the Swedish originals and will dislike the American remakes. It was the same case with Let The Right One In and Let Me In.

David Fincher is a great director but I don't understand why they are remaking the movie. There was nothing wrong with the original version.

Something tells me you haven't read the books.

I've been skeptical of this movie for a while despite the director and cast, but I really didn't like that trailer. I'm hoping that the idea of "trailers don't always reflect the movie" will be true here.

Passing on this. I liked it better when it was the original work. Why does Hollywood feel the need to **** on any successful foreign film? This fast track remake is completely unnecessary.

i heard great things about the books. I then proceeded to watch the first movie. was iffy at first, but i stuck with it. Fantastic. I am now in the process of starting the books (will read them before i watch the other 2 movies).

----now, concerning the actual topic, Hollywood WHAT THE ****? Seriously, think up your own stuff and quit doing remakes. washed up hacks.

Lately, i have found Foreign and indie movies to be a thousand times better than the dredge hollywood is putting out.

Panic Room Alien 3 The Game

The Game felt like a good movie because of the ending(everything else was ok). I liked Panic Room, what was wrong with it ? I haven't seen Alien 3, so, I have no say. Any way, David Fincher is a genius. He's one-of-the-only directors' today that is still capable of making great movies.

Regarding the trailer, I absolutely loved it and I have been waiting a while for it. The moment I heard he was making it, it was automatically my anticipated movie of the year. I love the casting. The film looks like it may be as dark(knowing David Fincher, it may be darker) than the original -- I just love what I'm seeing overall, can't wait.

Mixed feelings about this: 1. I hate that Hollywood remakes everything. Most Hollywood remakes suck and give a bad name to the original movie IMO. 2. Fincher is a respectable filmmaker, he made some movies I love like Fight Club and Seven but also meh movies like Panic Room and awful movies like Benjamin Button so I don't know about this. I liked The Social Network but it is far from his early masterpieces IMO. 3. Trent Reznor is awesome. NIN, Quake soundtrack, won an Oscar for Social Network, evrything this guy does is great and he's a genius so stop complaining.

It looks fantastic in my opinion, really looking forward to it. As far as the Swedish films are concerned, yeah, the first one is great, but the second and third are pretty damned terrible. I'm so glad they're getting new adaptations that will hopefully do the books justice.

The ending was the worst part.

As for Panic Room: sledgehammer plus face. That's what was wrong with it.

Mainly because it was done so well already. This version just seems like nothing but a cash-in; if it was such a hot property, why didn't Hollywood do it first, rather than wait for the first set of movies to do great?

Only the first film in that set is even worth watching though. They slashed the budget and handed it over to a soap opera director for the second and third. I don't see how fans of the books could complain that they're getting quality adaptations from Fincher with a score done by Trent Reznor...

Yeah, though it may be a cash-in (in the same vein as Let Me In) at least there's a good opportunity to improve upon the poor standards set.
