you think that match was Bias? its not about the mock battle(final battle) based on computer results. giving the "edge" doesnt really matter. its all in the numbers. or is it? i dont know what do you think?

you cant take the results of that show seriously to begin with. deadliest warrior is an exuse for blowing up rubber heads and cutting pigs in two. its by no means the final word on combat effectiveness.

Exactly what I was going to say. That "super secret program" they use is probably the producers flipping a coin.

I don't care who wins. I just like watching them chop, bash, stab and blow things up with cool weapons.

Well the GSG-9 should have won. Shotguns are more for breaching tactics, the GSG-9 would be equipped with HK MP7s for CQB. Also the fact that they gave the SPD the advantage because it makes "bigger holes" upsets me slightly. The G36 is a very modern and reliable weapon where the SPD is only an AR-15 variant with a superior round. I hate the AR-15 design to begin and I will give the 6.8 credit for being a spectacular round, but the G36 is the superior weapon.

All of the "Data" seems to carry a heavy Bias depending on what weapons each team member felt was the best, not what would actually be better in a combat scenario. Wether or not all of the data they collect ends up in this program or how the program extrapolates that into anything less than an advanced version of random numbers vs other random numbers.

they should have made it even. same with the Taliban vs IRA in Ak47 vs Ar15. but it was based on close quarters so G36 would have been better. and it would be awesome to see MP7 fight its predessesor MP5 to see whos better

I felt the Spartan vs Ninja and Spartan VS Samurai were far more biased. Spike and Deadliest Warrior basically take Sparta/spartans as it's unoffical mascot as it is. I don't feel there was much bias in GSG VS Swat.

I also found it silly when they put the Pirate in the same class as IRA, Spetznaz, and Mafia in the "Deadliest warrior of season 1" "modern warriors" fight. The pirate is not modern and his weaponry obviously cannot compete with 20th and 21st century weaponry.

I also thought the taser thing was kinda pointless. A taser wouldn't be very useful against someone in kevlar armor and what, would it? It wouldn't be able to penetrate all of that cloth and material to reach the skin.

I dont think it's biased, its more especulation than anything. If it was biased towards the US, the Spetnaz would have lost to the Green Beret on a previous episode. We will have to wait and see for the KGB vs CIA episode

there test dont show a lot. it only shows how much damage it can do. thats it. they dont show exactly how they use it. the show in inaccurate. example u dont see a spartan fighting alone so why put it alone. the ninja doesnt show it self. it attacks by surprise.

Well thats the giant problem with the series is that it pits warriors from across entirely different periods against an opponent they weren't equipped to fight (ie when you put a melee fighter vs a lightly armed ranged fighter). It doesn't take into account that those soldiers would likely adapt their tactics and weapons when facing such opponents. Its an interesting concept thats incredibly flawed.

It's called DEADLIEST warrior. Not smartest or most skilled or tactical. Give the winning teams weapons to someone who is not smart and tactical or not skilled and they would lose to some one with the losing teams weapons and gear if they were more smart and tactical or skilled. It's just for fun. It's not to show who is better and who would win a war or something (even though they do have that little bit at the end where they "fight" but that's just for fun), it's to show which person can kill and bring death (hence DEADLIEST) the best.

Training can't be a factor because it differs. Most major SWAT teams are ex US military; I would know because my uncle is my local SWAT team and he's an ex. Green Beret. Its true that it's harder to get into the GSG9 but most SWAT officers are ex . US military. They shouldn't have compared the PSD to the G36, they should of compared the G36 to the M16 or the PSD to the MP7.

I actually thought that the match-up was wrong. As elite as GSG9 is they're not really using their skills and training on real-life missions on a constant basis. SWAT should've been matched-up with either the FBI's HRT units or the Russian civilian equivalent.

I would like that show more if they had a more real interpretation of things, but oh well. It's still cool to watch torso damage, weapons, tactics, etc. Obviously GSG-9 >>>>>>>>>> SWAT and Knight > Pirate.

I disagree! I still think SWAT in real-life match-up will win out against GSG9. SWAT, especially LA and the NYC versions, ply their trade on an almost daily basis while GSG9 may only get the call once or twice a year for a real mission and not a surprise training op. I still say the best match-up would've been SWAT vs. FBI HRT who I would put up against any counter-terrorism unit not Israeli-based.

True, GSG9 doesn't get called very often, but they fight hardcore terrorists and trained gunmen. SWAT usually deals with some crackhead with a shotgun or an apartment full of gang members. I'm not saying SWAT couldn't put up a fight; they are trained in military tactics, but GSG9 are special forces who take down other soldiers. It would be a pretty good match, but GSG9 just has more combat experience (they are in Iraq) and has carried out more combat missions than SWAT. SWAT has been in a few major shootouts like the Compton battle in 1974 and the Hollywood bank robbery in 1997, but every mission is like that for GSG9.

As somebody mentioned earlier, most SWAT are ex-military and special ops level. I actually think that SWAT dealing with an urban and civilian population makes their job harder since they're actually hampered by when they can actually shoot. SWAT actually has to factor in civilian bystanders while military-based counter-terror units don't have as high a standard.

I'm a big fan of GSG9, ut even I know that real-world experience will always trump lots of training. IF I had to match GSG9 with another military-based unit then it would either have to be the British SAS (who do the same job) or the Israeli Yamam.

Wasn't it IRA vs Taliban? No offense, but the Taliban is generally seen as a more hated group than the IRA in the world.

I personally prefer the deadliest warriors that don't involve modern "warriors". I'm not really interested in who would win between the IRA and Spetznaz. I'm interested in who would win vs say, Pirate VS Samurai or something like that. Things that cannot truly come to happen today.

Personally I agree with Pirate VS Knight. Guns and dirty tactics>chivalry and swords.

[QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"]After they did the show on the IRA, and having had a number of friends killed by the IRA, it was basically a propaganda piece I can no longer stomach the show. Pixel-Pirate

The IRA Vs Spetsnaz was ridiculous. IRA would not stand a chance agaisnt Spetsnaz under the set conditions. IRA rely on ambush and retreat.
