I just finished watching Death Note!
I loved it, it was so sad though - made me cry
Was just wondering if anyone could recommend something like it for me to watch?:)
What did you guys think of it if you have seen it?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
try mushishi. Its not like Death Note, but its unique in its own way.
Also try Ergo Proxy. I haven't seen much of it, but it looks interesting.
Gantz, definately Gantz :DHardQuor
gantz is cool. but i hate geass and deathnote(except the last episode of DN)
Code Geass has a similar flavor to Death Note. I highly recommend it. Renegade_Fury
so many similarities its uncanny; the whole deception/killing powers/school coverup/mind games/take over the world and make a new one.....
in my opinion Code Geass is much better because I hated kira/light but loved zero/lelouch
however there is not L type character...and Lelouch is deep down GOOD instead of evil like light.
There aren't many anime like Death Note.
There's Code Geass, but overall, it's hard to recommend anime to you with your preference for Death Note being the only hint you gave us, since a lit of people who read crap like DBZ also like Death Note. It's really a very popular and well liked anime.

The one thing I didn't like about Code Geass was the ending, but then again, I knew what I was in for, since it's a Sunrise anime.
Wait, have you finished the series yet?
Code Geass has a very similar theme to Death Note, but there's a lot more violence.
The manga ending of Death Note was much, much, much better than the anime ending. I wanted to strangle somebody when I saw the difference.:x

Oh god, please tell me more. I won't get any closure from Code Geass unless I hear what the manga ending is.

Does Code Geass have a manga? I haven't seen the ending to either, so don't spoil it.:x
In the manga ending to Death Note,
Light is disowned by Mikami, and when he gets shot by Matsuda, he begs Ryuk to kill them all. But rather than write everyone else's names in the Death Note, he writes Light's name. Light panics and begs helplessly for hisa life before finally dying a miserable death in front of everyone. Misa commits suicide, and Near becomes the next L. Check it out.
Death Note's ending isn't that different. They just show some more at the end with Near.
and light doesn't run away from the warehouse
Code Geass though, doesn't have a manga that tells the same story of the anime. There are currently 4 (I think) mangas that are based loosely on it. I'm currently reading Nightmare of Nunally. They give Lelouch a completley different Geass, and yeah, Nunally has her own too.

Oh wait, my bad. I misread.
Damnit, I tricked myself into getting my hopes up. That's how pissed off I am at the Code Geass ending.
But yeah, Code Geass has a manga, and I haven't seen the manga ending.
some people think he's still alive. They think he's the guy driving the carriage CC's on and that he received immortality either from her or the emperor. Personally, I think he's dead since it would take away meaning from the ending. At least Lelouch owned everyone before suzaku killed him. :( Oh, and **** Ogi and those Black Knight losers.
Although I didn't like some aspects of the ending, I found it quite enjoyable. Various episodes had flaws, mostly during the second season. Nevertheless, most of the plot twists, character development and the story were interesting. In my opinion, the series as a whole was great. I would definitely recommend Code Geass.
Go for Ergo Proxy, it's probably the most complex, but intriguing, anime out there. Be warned though, it deals a lot with psychology and philosophy, making it extra epic :Ptry mushishi. Its not like Death Note, but its unique in its own way.
Also try Ergo Proxy. I haven't seen much of it, but it looks interesting.

There's no direct manga storyline for code geass. The anime's story is separate, so you're stuck with the same ending.

Yep, the manga has some slight differences from the anime and besides, there's the other manga "Nightmare of Nunnally" and "Suzaku of the Counterattack" which occur on alternative universes so the anime ending is (at least at the moment, since who knows.. maybe someday there might be a movie or OVA,etc) the official and only ending.
Death Note is certainly an incredible anime. I'm afraid I can't recommend any other anime, as it was my first, and I'm only just now watching my second, which is Elfen Lied.SSJ_NegaI'm so jealous. Wish the internet was around when I was discovering anime. Instead, i had to settle for mixed up episodes of Sailor Moon and Dragonball. That **** made absolutely no sense.
If you are looking for similar animes, I highly recommend Code Geass.
They are incredibly similar.
The first part of Death Note was incredible. Pure genius. By the second part, it really decreased in quality.
I just finished watching Death Note!
