This is a pretty touching story.

I had no idea Dennis Hopper was in this condition. Apparently, he has a very developed prostate cancer and doesn't have long to live. He weighs barely 100 pounds and is extremely weak. He coulnd't even speak much in the ceremony. It's nice to see him finally get a long overdue Star in the Walk of Fame.

This was pretty much his goodbye ceremony for an incredible career. Long live one of the greatest villians, and actors, in film history.

That's cool, good that he was able to see it happen. I can't say I'm much of a fan of him (only movie he did that I saw was Speed actually) but I liked his work on the Gorillaz song "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head"

EDIT: After watching the video in the link, he looks like he's in terrible shape. I won't be surprised if we hear in the next week or two that he has died. What a shame.

That's right. It's going to be a sad loss. I saw him less than a year ago on Conan O'Brien and he seemed in great shape, at least for 73.

Yeah, cancer and chemo can do a real number on the body, in a very short amount of time. Plus, his cancer is very aggressive at this point, which only makes his emaciation worse.

Man, this is sad news, glad he saw his star though.

Him performing Fire Coming Out of the Monkeys Head with the Gorillaz, love this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nf9IkoxwMs

That is quite sad. I have always respected him as an actor. I actually watched a bunch of his movies recently at a friend's house. He was doing a Dennis Hopper marathon and I watched Blue Velvet, Out of the blue, River's edge, Osterman weekend, Red Rock West, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. They were all fun to watch, but Out of the blue really surprised me. That is a damn good film he directed and I highly recommend it.

He should have received a star decades ago. I love his character acting. How the hell does a bimbo like Cameron Diaz get a star before a creative veteran like Hopper? Hollywood is bullsh!t. That's how.

One of his best roles in the greatest war film of all time.

And of course, Blue Velvet, going crazy.

I remember even in recent years, he was AWESOME in Land of the Dead. Dennis: "OH MY GOD GET DOWN!" *his cronie hits the deck while Dennis remains standing behind him, calmly pulls out a gun, and shoots him*

He's 73 and has a 6 year old daughter?

But yeah, sad to see him go like this.

StrawberryHill

Diaz has a Star? I been to Hollywood many time and I never spotted Cameron Diaz's Star.

Hopper is one fine actor. Peace!
