'Role Models' or early Guy Ritchie flicks (like 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' or 'Snatch') for comedy, and 'Band of Brothers' or 'The Pacific' (both are mini-series, not films) for the war genre. I can't think of any action flicks I'd want to recommend.

War movie: A Walk In The Sun. (1943.) For an old film, it's surprisingly edgy and a rare find.

Comedy: Tank Girl with Lori Petty. Funny,and action packed.

Alternatively, The Parole Officer with Steve Coogan and Lena Heady.

Watch The Room. According to Nostalgia Critic, it's one of the most unintentionally funny movies ever.
