Edit: I always hear stupid reasons of why we're in Iraq, like oil, and that 9/11 was an inside job, but has anyone ever thought of this.

Wait...what?
EDIT: If the TC is implying that Saddam was allied with the Taliban then he is wrong.
But, it is true that because of the war in Afghanistan, Zarqawi did go to Iraq prior to the invasion. Now, that doesn't necessarily justify regime change in Iraq, but if one is to conclude that the war in Afghanistan is justified because of Al Qaeda, then military action in Iraq is subsequently justified.
Was it wrong in WW2 when we fought Germany even though japan attacked us? No. So why is it wrong that we are in Iraq?

dude I really do not know where to begin with you...
Wait...what?-Sun_Tzu-
Many Americans are against the war and give stupid reasons why we're fighting it, like oil (even though its almost 3 bucks for a gallon of gas)

So what does that have to do with Germany declaring war on us in WWII? You do know that following the attack on Pearl Harbor and the American declaration of war against Japan did Germany issue a state of War with America. Part of the agreement of the Tripartite Pact (which Germany, Japan, and Italy signed) was that should they any member nation be attacked by a country not currently involved in either European conflict of Asian conflict that other members of the Pact would declare war on the agressive party. Declaring war is an act of agression.[QUOTE="megahaloman64"][QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"]Wait...what?MattUD1

You know, this entire topic insults me to the very core. Look at my above post which I edited to learn why we attacked Germany. Was it wrong in WW2 when we fought Germany even though japan attacked us? No. So why is it wrong that we are in Iraq?

Indeed, it is.
After reading TC's post, it occurs to me that if the Internet were around in 1941, there would be a massive conspiracy theory that the US Government staged the Pearl Harbor attack to allow the USA to enter WW2.xaosActually it was Canada that attacked pearl harbour.

Maybe because shortly after Pearl Harbor, Germany declared War on us. :|

How do you figure that Saddam's Iraq and Taliban Afghanistan were allies? The Taliban, by most accounts, hated Saddam.
Going into Iraq was a mistake, we could have used Saddam to instigate a proxy war with Iran to greatly weaken them (better to have others dirty their hands for us). But at least Petraeus (sp?) improved the situation from the **** up it was before.
