So who's your favorite hero? Can be fictional, can be someone historical, can be a family member. And whoever you pick, take a sentence or two and tell us why. :) My hero...well, I guess I don't really have one.. For the sake of my own thread, I'll just say Stan Lee. I admire the man, and I think he's one of the greatest hero inventors that ever lived.

My philosophy lecturer/ supervisor. He's totally unique and smart.. and I wouldn't really want to be like him... but I still admire him. Possibly for the novelty of it... possibly because I'm secretly a bisexual... possibly because I needed a hero for this thread.

I really don't think I have a "hero". Don't get me wrong, there are people that I do consider to be a hero (for example, Jonas Salk, although I define hero differently than many people), but I don't think any of those people are direct influences in what I want to do in my life. Maybe their character and personality influences me some, but I wouldn't idolize them.

My hero is named Joseph/Yusuf [p.b.u.h]; he's a prophet in Islam. He was constantly beaten and mocked by his brothers throughout his childhood. He ended up being abandoned by his brothers, was sold into slavery and spent several years in prison. Joseph [p.b.u.h] eventually became an important ruler in Egypt and forgave his brothers for all the hell they put him through. It often stirs my soul to picture him on his throne while his brothers prostrate before him.

Well for people who influenced my life the most, I'd say my Mother, my senior Drill Sergeant at Infantry Basic Training, and some of my teachers I had from grade school all the way through high school (most of the professors I've had in college haven't been the greatest). My mother for all my crap she put up with and all she's done for me. My Drill Sergeant for helping me turn from a boy into a man back then and what it means to be a good soldier, not to mention the **** he said sounded like it could of been in Full Metal Jacket. No one ever forgets their Drill Sergeants names throughout their whole career in the Army.

I don't really have a hero though. I'm not a child anymore.

My old man. Last of the old school hard-asses, the man taught me how tough the world can be, the difference between what's right and wrong, and that to you'd best step up and be responsible for all that you do, be it good or bad. The man made my life miserable doing it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have several.

Family - My good old Grandpa, he didn't had the best oportunities in life however he always said "even if you are just a janitor, make sure you are the best janitor" or the other one that i also like and that to this day i still use "when you drink make sure you control the alcohol, not the other way around"

Historical - While i saw them in the movie Black Hawk Dawn, they were real, i'm talking about those guys who went alone to defend their fallen comrades and gave their lives for the only survivor, overall i think that anyone who gives his life for someone is a hero.

Fictional - Rocky, he is the guy who will never give up despite the odds, i like how in the first Rocky his staff told him, stay down, stay down, but he just won't stop until the very end.

Gaming - Terry Bogard, he is just badass, plain and simple :)

I don't really have one. There are people I admire in each category, but nobody that I would consider my "hero".

Practically it wold be my Dad: he is one col guy and has always illustrated that nothing is impossible. he has done some real good in his life made some achievements and i admire and respect him for it. He is my hero.

My next hero would be Steve Jobbs: Excellent genius. made some innovations, always thinking out of box and knows how to rip of customers and yet keep them dedicated to his products.

I admire guts of people like Mahatma Gandhi who have always fought for greater good.

I love the guts of Eminem, whatever life has thrown at him, he has accepted it and has always recovered after relapse

...and I finally love the badass attitude of Dante. Always be smiling, fight everything, take everything you can

I don't really think I have one... the closest thing I have to a hero would probably be Bear Grylls.

My maternal grandfather, aside from my parents. He was always an upbeat, optimistic man who loved sports, the outdoors and was just an all-around great person. He is greatly missed by me :(
