Did the movie "Exorcist" still haunt you?

i've only seen the original the exorcist but i thought it was very good, also very scary

Holy ****, I didn't sleep any after watching that damn movie.

I saw the movie when I was little... and I grew up Catholic... sooooooo I basically crapped my pants. I would go to sleep and hope that my bed wouldn't start shaking.

Never really freaked me out. I did see it when I was a tad older though. 13 or 14. The book is fantastic however.

I thought it was pretty good. Not really scary imo.

I laughed with my friends profusely throughout the whole movie. My friends and I have odd senses of humor I guess. I just couldn't take it seriously.

It's a great film. One of cinematic greatness and genuinely scary. I just thought it was kind of hilarious the whole time.

I never really get scared at movies. That movie was intense, but after watching it I slept like a baby. 8)

that, jaws and ringu have all had a lasting impression, even though I don't believe in ghost or demons.

I watched it when I was about 8, on VHS and the copy was really crappy which really added to the scare factor. I later watched the remastered DVD and it just didn't have the same affect, whether it was because I was older or not I don't know. I think due to the extra polish of the remaster it made the effects look cheap.

The original Exorcist was indeed one of the scariest movies i have see. Definitely the best in the series...

Been a long time since i watched on VHS when i was a kid but yeah its pretty disturbing. Especially the crucifix scene.

I first watched it when I was an adult... so no, it never even scared me. Just made me laugh a lot.

Now [REC] and Paranormal Activity... those movies freaked me out.

I remember being told in another thread that this was one THEE most scariest movies... I am disappoint. It had to have been the LEAST scariest movies I have ever seen.

The thing that made the exorcist so scary is that it is based on a true story. And, if you are Catholic, you know that demonic possession is real.

i get super scared of the dumbest scary films, i remember i couldnt start a film because i found the dvd menu too scary XD . although this wasn't scary in the slightest to me. i found it very interesting.

It didn't really scare me, but I do love the movie with all my heart. The book was pretty good, too.

I saw it for the first time in 1980. I didnt sleep much that night.

Well the movie was along time ago. I thought she was pretty when I saw it as a kid. Plus, Linda blair does grow up to be a attractive lady.

This is going to sound stupid but i have only seen the first half of the movie, when she starts getting really weird i turn it off because i know for a fact that i will have nightmares, i have never seen the whole movie i am to afraid to watch any movies like that

Never thought of that. I can see the resemblance.

The first time I saw it I was like 12. I always heard the movie was scary so when I finally saw it I was disappointed. Mind you, I've never been religious. Parents never took me to church so I didn't understand the religious themes in it. I admire the special effects but to me it's just any other horror movie.

To this day I don't get why people were so scared of it.

REC 2 was more scary. The guns made me feel like I was playing a horror FPS but I had no control of it whatsoever.
