did u have a tupac/biggie phase?

i remember in school all the 9th graders would talk about biggie and tupac and i must admit i filled my ipod shuffle with tons of garbage tupac and garbage biggie songs and listened to them for months. now i dont listen to that garbage. man, 50 cent owns them with his murder raps

Yeah, calling BS on this. With how gigantic Tupac and Biggie were they were basically the equivalent of Eminem and Lil Wayne. People will listen to Eminem 10 years from now whether he's still alive or not.

Tupac and Biggie were comercially successful and received rave raviews on their music while they were still alive. It's not like they were terrible rappers who were propped up just because they died. In fact it's the other way around - the reason people still make such a big deal about their deaths even today was because of how big they were. They're the rap version of Lennon or Elvis.

MF doom is one of my favourite. He makes the best beats and he's got humour that other rappers don't.

Maybe. MF Doom obviously isn't played on top 40 radio. But if someone goes online looking for new hip-hop to listen to, chances are they're going to run into someone talking about MF Doom within 30 seconds.

Well whether he is semi-obscure or not, he's better than most of the big rappers out there. It's just because at the time most people enjoyed rap that was basically a tally of how many people someone killed or fvcked. MF Doom was different, and a lot more talanted that Tupac
