No, why would I? Sad ya, but cry? I knew the character wasnt real and it was just a story from a fictional book. I dont cry unless i know the stuff in a movie really happened (like when i cryed to Diary of Anne Frank)I felt like crying after watching mel gibson's passion of the christ. Soul touching movie. Not going to watch it second time as the movie is very depressing and bloody violent.

Yeah I disagree, I'm an atheist agnostic who despises organized religion and I thought that The Passion Of The Christ was a great film.

No, I didn't cry and I wasn't really "touched," but that's probably just because I'm not a religious person at all. It was extremely violent however, I'll give it that.Â
It made me think that Mel has issues.
Edit:
I'd say that the movie basks in it's violence.
I think this one is a lot better.

OT: No. The ending was too predictable. Ha. Seriously, though--was I touched? Yes. Cried? No.

Actually I was a little nauseated due to the violence of it. As close to a snuff film as you can get.

i'm not judging the movie since i have not watched it but, every person that i know personally and complimented the film, happened to be a freakin' moron so...:?
No.
Threw up in my mouth a little. :? It was a bit over-zealous. I think the word I'm looking for is - Nauseating.
the important thing was not if you cried but did you hate jews more after seeing it.
if so the goal of that movie and every other passion play ever made was achieved.

"Understanding the influential role that passion plays have exercised in the spread of anti-Semitism, the Catholic Church today urges great caution in all dramatic presentations of the passion to ensure that they not furnish any impetus for anti-Semitic attitude or behavior."
http://archive.adl.org/Interfaith/passion_theology.asp
Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ" revived questions of anti-Semitism in passion plays and how involved Jews were in the death of Jesus. James Shapiro, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, traces the history of the world's most famous passion play in his book "Oberammergau." In an interview before the movie opened, Shapiro explained how passion plays have changed through the centuries, and described the Vatican's efforts to make the plays less anti-Semitic. He also speculated on how Mel Gibson's version of the play might reveal Gibson's--and contemporary Christian--attitudes toward Jews.Â
"What has the Catholic Church done to try to make passion plays vilify the Jews less?
Â
Vatican II tried to resolve the issue. They made an effort to say, 'We cannot blame all Jews in time for what happened then.' It was a historical stepping away from what's in Matthew as a way of trying to resolve the deep rift between Christians and Jews."
