Did You Ever Stay Home And Pass Out Candy

Buta strange thought came to myhead andI wonder why people spend money on candy to give out to kids they don't know.

Because people egg your house if you don't.

I never have, but I think I might this year.

It seems kind of fun.

I haven't had trick or treaters in years.

I think I did 1 year, wasn't a success. Not too many kids came. I ate the leftovers.

Some people actually enjoy passing out candy and seeing the various of costumes that kids wear. ExoticAnimal

I rent a white cargo van for the night and put the candy in the back, I tell them to get in the van for candy. It feels good bringing happiness to children.

I do so all the time, and it's simply tradition. If everyone had the logic to not waste money on candy for trick-or-treaters when I was young, then Halloween would've sucked.

Never, Halloween isn't really celebrated here.

Many years ago when we lived in the suburbs of Minneapolis and got tons of trick or treaters we did. It was fun, seeing all the excited little kids in their costumes.

Sometimes its fun.

Every year I give kids salad. Yeah...THEY HATE ME!

Did for the first time this year. While watching scary movies.

We got a surprising amount of kids tonight given it's a retirement area. I suspect neighborhood hopping. Oh well, as long as I find that my truck hasn't been keyed or something it's all good. :P

Yeah, I remember when I outgrew trick or treating but my sister was still young enough that my parents had to go out with her. So I got stuck handing out candy one year. I had fun with it though... i set up a strobe light and put on a generic ghost face costume and scared kids.

Once I stopped trick or treating myself I did start passing out candy.

Yeah I have and I don't mind it if its kid coming to the door for candy. But then I started noticing a lot of adults were ringing the door as well. And these weren't parents of kids, they were grown men not even from my neighborhood who were carpooling together from neighborhood to neighborhood. To top it off a lot of them weren't even wearing constumes, just plain old regular clothes. I'm not giving anybody 25+ years old candy if they ring my doorbell.

So nowadays if I'm home on Halloween I'll pass out some candy right at dusk when the young trick or treaters are out. And then just turn off the lights later in the night and act like I'm not home when I start seeing random cars showing up in the neighborhood.

I didn't hand out candy this year, but I started doing it when I became 15... that's when I stopped going Trick or Treatin.
