I'm not going to pick it up. The movie itself is overrated, Batman Begins was much better in my opinion. The only thing that saved The Dark Knight from mediocrity was Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. If they had done the Joker a different way or had recasted him with someone else, the movie would have been an even bigger disappointment to me than it was when I saw it in theaters.
I also don't like to buy dvds or blu-ray discs, it's seems like a waste of money when in a few months it will be on the TV, and if I didn't get TV the most I would do is rent anyways.
I forgot it was out today! And the stores all closed an hour ago. Damn it all!Ninja-Hippo:( I took a personal day off for it. :P I had no other reason to use a personal day, and I'll lose it if I don't use it by the end of the month, so... :P

I actually thought The Dark Knight was monumentally superior to Begins, because personally, origin movies are a bit slower for me, thus I don't enjoy them as much. I also love darker themed movies, and this was about as dark as you could get. And yes, the Joker made the movie because guess what? It WAS the Joker's movie. My blu-ray copy came yesterday, and the movie is as awesome as ever. I really wanted the Blu-ray steelbook version, but it's a Futureshop exclusive and they don't ship outside of Canada. :cry:CJL182You know, I used to love getting the special collectors edition versions of movies, but alas, I just don't have the disposable income I used to have to do that. And in retrospect, I hardly ever watch the special features that come with the standard special editions anymore. :?

I used to a real sucker for collector's editions when it came to games, but I've become very selective about that now. I never knew that there's a good number of movie collectors who really enjoy getting their movies in steelbooks until I heard that TDK would be released with a steelbook version. I love the movie, so I'd totally buy the blu-ray steelbook if I could find it, but I don't want to pay the scalper price on ebay lol.

What infuirates me is when certain studios go all out for the Blu-Ray version, and gives less than a rat's ass for the regular DVD version (Such as the movie Wanted, for example.) Not everyone has a Blu-Ray player yet, and it seems to sometimes only cater to those in the minority.

It happened then and its happening now. Hence why I asked my parents for an hd tv, trying to get with the times lol.
I picked it up on Blu-Ray today. It's my first Blu-Ray! :DJustPlainLucasits gonna be my first blu-ray too :! :D

ANother thing I noticed sometimes is when an older movie is brought onto Blu-Ray, they don't always bring the special features over from the Standard DVD version, yet they expect customers to pony up almost $30 for it. And I'm sorry $30 is too much to pay for for a bare-bones DVD, regardless if its on Blu-Ray or not. (Predator & RoboCop are some expamples I've noticed.)
Yep, the Batman mask two disc version.StaindShadow
Does the mask version have anything that the other versions don't? I got the 2-disc version from Amazon today but I was thinking of giving it to my friend and picking up the mask edition for myself. I'll probably pass if there aren't more extra features though.
