I hate learning languages in school. The only thing you learn from it is how to fill in the blanks, but you never hardly learn how to actually use the language. You'll never be fluent with the school method, and it focuses too much on learning rules.
I like to learn languages by myself at my own pace without someone in the class slowing me down. But that doesn't beat immersion, which is the best way to learn a language.
I like to learn languages.
When I was at school, I enjoyed learning French and English.
When I was at high school, I enjoyed German, English, Latin and Classical Greek classes.
I also would like to learn Mandarin (I already know a little) and Hebrew.
It's fun to 'move your tongue' in other ways. :P
My french teacher was so bad, and sucked so much at managing classes, that from grade 3 through grade 8, it was basically grade 4 french over and over again. Highly frustrating and depressing that she couldn't stand up to a bunch of pre-teens.
I'll probably learn French in the future, because I wanted to know it when I was younger, but wasn't really given much opportunity.
Both French and Welsh are compulsory in my school. Two years ago I had a choice to drop French (Welsh was compulsory; this year was the last year of it though), but I took it for another two years and passed the exam with an A this Summer. :) I'll be taken a French A-Level course over the next two years aswell... I passed Welsh with a C, just so you know; I hated the damn subject and the teacher was awful, despite being a nice person...
I'm taking Spanish and quite frankly, I don't like learning it. Maybe I should of taken German or Latin but I did wish there were Arabic classes.
I don't mind learning Spanish that much, it is just that my teacher is terrible. She goes on and on about the importance of speaking spanish in class, then gives instructions in English...Cube_of_MooN
Be careful, I have two aunts. They are Castilian teachers, so you might be speaking of one of them. :P
I would like to learn other languages, especially German but I hate the actual learning of it, there is nothing interesting about learning a bunch of words, it's not like science or something where you feel you have actually learnt something interesting, it's just words, more words, and some grammar.rb2610In case of german......lots and lots and lots of grammar! ;)
