I love about an hour and a half of that movie. However, I think the other 50% left much to be desired.
It was ok.. Not great.
To put in perspective I liked it WAY more than Avatar!!!
If you are going to redo a plot at least use the same name. But it wasn't called "Dances With Wolvesitar" or "Last Samuraitar" or dozens or other movies, westerns, and TV show. But somehow redoing that trite story line with bad actors but really good special effect earns you a best picture nominee..
Oh yeah.. King Kong..? Yeah just ok..
A little long, took a while to get on the damn island. The ending was very sad, you know Jackson did a great job when you actually feel sad over a damn monkey
But thank you for coming up with yet another old movie plot that follows "Avatar"...
The movie starts out trying to kill an evil "whatever".. Then you get close to that "whatever" and see and learn its ways..
Then you start see the "whatever's" ways are better than yours...
And then... Oh sorry I fell asleep..
Then you side with "whatever's" side which has clearly been illustrated as being better than your originals side.
Choose your ending, happy or sad... The end!
Loved: The greedy film director and how he recruits an up and coming young actress and kidnaps a renowned writer. How the relationship between the girl and the ape develops. How they captured the giant ape and everything that happens once they return to New York. The ending.
Hated: Everything that happens on the boat and how long it takes to get to the island. Everyhting to do with crazy natives, dinosaurs, and giant bugs.
Overall I'd give it a 7. Good film.

You mean the "subtle" commentary on racism that was in the first one? Yeah, that wasn't there.

can you go into detail before? It was pretty terrible. Probably ranked up there with Transformers as the most mishandled franchise in cinematic history.
