i dunno if it's just me or not, but yesterday youtube was down for a bit, and a few times i watched a movie, when i try to replay it, an advertisement video plays for a minute before letting me watch it again....is it just me?

I've noticed ads from vids but they may be from the certain vid. I'm not sure though... either way it's really annoying =|

I haven't had that yet. Maybe it's just for some videos for now. But if it's for all videos then that'd be very annoying.

I'm pretty sure the ads only pop up on some partner vids...
I could be wrong, but those are the only vids I've run across them before.

Were you watching one of the movies provided by youtube? The only time they ever have actual video ads is on the free movies/tv shows they provide

It hasn't gone downhill persei, but the little pop-up ads at te beginning of videos are annoying. I'm not sure if I've seen the same ads being talked about in this topic though. It's not as if YouTube has become any less popular or is losing money, it's just that Google realised that with a site as massive as YouTube people will forgive you for putting ads on there.

Interesting fact: The amount of bandwidth YouTube had in 07/08 (I forget which year) was the size of the entire internet back in 2000/01. I read it in a newspaper somewhere last year.
