Muscle makes you stronger, but fat is less dense and insulating, so a fat person takes up more room. Personal experience has taight me it's hard to hurt a fat person, also saw a fat person fight a muscle bound guy. It took 5 people to restrain the big boy while only two for jumbo pecs.

On a cellular level muscle is made of protein whereas fat is made of lipids.

I weigh the same as my brother who is basically all muscle. I can honestly say I would never pick a fight with him.

something that needs to be considered is that fat people are normally very strong indeed. Since they're carrying all that extra weight around, their muscles are often strong too.

If both have no fight training, the muscular dude might have some advantage. Fat people indeed are harder to hurt (I've seen quite some car accident victims, and fat ones usually come out with less injuries... now if the muscular guy can hit harder than a car... :)).

If both are trainined fighters, that wouldn't matter...

That might put things into perspective. As I've said before, personal experience suggests to me the fat guy would win.

Well lets think about the purpose each one serves. Muscle makes your body move, fat stores energy.

The difference between muscle and fat is that I've got muscle and NONE of that fat. You think I got where I am today by playing Starcraft and trolling people on a thriving internet community? NO! Ben10 Protector of Earth had to be the worst money investment ever in my entire life. There were so many other things i could have gotten with the money spent on this piece of junk. I could have bought a new bench press, or some dumbbells....TO LIFT. Instead I bought this game which made me less active. You know, I could have been lifting the whole time to help tone my chiseled features. Me and my friends went to the gym and hit the beach afterwards, so we could get some. Anyways, that day was COMPLETELY wild yo. My bro Paulie was just about to get some from this hot French chick, but then she just collapsed on the floor out of nowhere, and I was like... "Yo Paulie, what happened bro?". And we later found out she died of some diabeetus emergency LOL. That was a pretty rockin' night. This kind of stuff happens like EVERY NIGHT for me and my bros. You think I got where I am today by playing Ben 10? Of course not! Man, I follow a strict workout plan every week. Man, I bench press when I wake up, I bench press when I eat breakfast, I bench press when I s***, I bench press while I tan, I bench press while I ride my steed, I bench press while I work, I bench press when I bench press and then I bench press again yo. And that's not even HALF of all the bench presses I do in one day Man, It takes HARD WORK to get where I am today. I don't eat any crap either. I''m talkin' like, lean meats for every meal. None of that pork stuff. That reminds me of another time when my broski "Ronnie" got in this MAD fight with some guy on the boardwalk. I mean, I was just chillin' at the pad talking to some ROCKIN chick on the phone. Then, I get a call from Paulie and he's just like "Yo bro, Ronnie just got in a BAD fight at the boardwalk", and I'm just like, 'Ronnie just got in a BAD fight at the boardwalk!?!". So me and my other bro ran down there and there were a couple of guys who were up to no good, started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. And Ronnie got in a one little fight and his mom got scared, said "you're moving with auntie and uncle in Bel-Air".FlintBeefchest

except when you realize they cant run for over 10 seconds or they'll be inconscious in the ground...they are very fat and in most cases fat people cant run because they have problems in holding their own weight...

muscle guy will win...muscle guy will have a better physical condition, will be able to last longer, run and hit faster and his attacks will still inflict great damage on the fat guy because muscle guy is...uhm...strongh and whatever they tell you about hurting a fat guy is almost impossible...a hit in the chin always hurts...

What has being able to run got to do with being strong?! If you look at most of the worlds strongest men, they're (generally) not msucley-toned men, but large heavy and in most cases carrying a bit extra weight too. Being large mean your muscles have to work harder to support you and your actions, hence lots of larger people are actually very strong.

a hit in the chin always hurts...lightleggy

That works for both does it not?

There are several areas in the human body that regardless of how much you exercise, will always be unprotected, and therefore a trained fighter (albeit fat) might take advantage in order to down a muscular oponent.

Take for example the following routine:

  • Quick jab in the middle of one's eyes (Leads to disorientation and makes person see all blurry).
  • Lateral hit onto the ear (Loss of equilibrium).
  • Throw Muscular dude to the ground (Weight difference does a fine job with a well connected judo attack).
  • Knee to the throat, drop all the weight of your body... (Muscular dude might die here... since there is no muscle to protect him there).

or:

  • Fat dude does a Morote Gari (not sure if writen right... not good at romanji) on muscular dude (Judo attack where you grab opponent's legs and pull them back while using your shoulder to move the body of your oppnet backwards)... you'd have the fat guy holding both legs of a downed man.
  • Lower your feet with all the might of your weight onto the poor man's groin...

or:

  • Use your prefered Throw to down a muscular dude...
  • Drop over him and lower the round belly onto the bastard's face... he won't be able to breathe (Again, muscular dude might die here).

I've been thrown to the ground by a friendly pat on my back by some fat friends before... so yes, they may be slow (Some are incredibly fast for their looks), and can't run a lot, but they sure are strong...

150lb is roughly welterweight in boxing. These guys are welterweights:

And they would absolutely pulverize any fat 150lb kid.

Here's a simple answer.

Muscle =/= Fat

In other words muscle would win against fat.

Have a good day.

Muscle gives physical strength. Fat stores consumable energy. They are completely unrelated in the body.

Muscularity doesn't grant a person fighting skills. Have you seen Roy Nelson beat people up? That dude is pure fat, yet he manages to destroy completely shredded opponents. I really don't like him personally, but he's just an example.

If they weighed the same amount, logic (and physics) would dictate the person with more muscle would have an upper hand as they can exert more force because they can move faster. You know, F=ma and whatnot. :P The fat guy only has mass to go off of.

FPSunionOWNS
Muscle or fat would strengthen your legs/core/back because it forces these muscles to carry more weight around making you stronger.
