I hated it, But that's me....And my hatred of all people talentless.biocunsumername some of your favorite bands..
Pink Floyd, Zepplin, The doors, Beatles, Beach Boys, Areosmith.biocunsumer..Maybe you should open yourself up to different music, instead of listening to Overly Famous bands..
This is definately not bad, but it's incredibly generic. Let's face it: any innovation in rock died in the mid nineties. There is no reason why I would listen to your music over your influences. You want my opinion as to why bands find it so hard to innovate these days? It's because there is nothing more to innovate on. It had to happen sometime, and now it has, imho.  The only thing to do now is to create new genres of music, which is never going to happen because you would need new instruments, which is never going to happen because every instrument imaginable has been made. Rock is dead; heck music in general is dead because it's all imitation these days. I know that's a tough truth to face, but hey, there is a relatively new form of entertainment that may not have yet reached its golden age: video games. Try your hand at that!  Sure, I'll still be playing my guitar, maybe even join a band, because I myself cannot bring myself to completely accept that rock is dead.  Â
[QUOTE="biocunsumer"]Pink Floyd, Zepplin, The doors, Beatles, Beach Boys, Areosmith.Zap-O-Matic..Maybe you should open yourself up to different music, instead of listening to Overly Famous bands.. Why, though? All of those "Overly Famous" bands have so much variety in their music, that there's no need to listen to indie bands, who are just rehashes of the famous bands. Led Zeppelin, for example, has hard rockers, folk songs, epic songs, ballads, experimentals, etc..

All right, all right, you got me. I was generalizing too much; so sue me. On top of that, it seems that we have different ideas of what a uniqu sound is. I listened to American Football's "Honestly?", and honestly it sounded like the typical indie song, what with the heavy U2/emo influence that all indie bands seem to have. I have a friend just like you who thinks indie is super-awesome, but I don't see anything in it. It's pointless to argue about this anymore; there's nothing I can do to convince you, and vice versa. We both think we're right. I'm done debating..
