Discussion for new boards

• TV/Movies board: yes.
• Anime/Manga board: yes.

Those two boards should be separated.

I agree to this. But however, if that was the case, then why not let other users just make a thread on OT? I mean, this is what's OT is all about, making threads when it comes to Anime/Movies, Books, ect. is there a reason to have these when we can just used it here on OT? We really want to make this place the best right here in OT.

Edit: If the feedbacks are higher for demanding then I can understand.

Well, my reason for the Anime/Manga is selfish. They annoy the hell out of me, they're always asking for recommendations and then people are either too dumb to point to previous threads or just get angry at the 4543895034802480 anime recommendation thread. Just let them get their kicks somewhere else. Hopefully you can discuss Hentai there too...

Which brings me to my next point: perhaps OT After Hours should make a comeback! I don't care much for it, just throwing it out there.

The TV/Movie board is obvious. People will just have to come up with better, new topics to discuss in OT.

I'm not worried about OT becoming less active anyway since I think Gamespot will go under in a year or so.

It should remain under the OT umbrella imo as tv/movies etc.. are "off topic" of video game discussions.

Objection withdraw on using OT. I do agree that if your gonna do a Anime/Manga then that should include Hentai as well. Since I'm a Hentai fanboy, [and I have no shame saying that] I would like to see that happen. Also OT After Hours.

@davillain-: Always the perv =P Should these new boards happen they will still be subject to the ToU so I'm not sure if Hentai discussion would be permitted. Screenshots would definitely not be and I highly doubt you'd be allowed to discuss who stuck who's tentacle where.

@korvus: Oh no Mr. K. I have no intention to post pics but rather just discussion the name of this hentai and just disusing the plot. Not all of hentai involves the Squid hands, just silly story plot and that's about it. But yeah just talking about the name and give a reasons why it's good or bad shouldn't be a problem.

@davillain-: If it's nothing explicit then it's just anime discussion =)

The last thing a nearly dead forum needs is more separation to be perfectly honest unless of course it is to get rid of religious/police topics from this board which doesn't help with bringing in new members

I don't want to potentially kill your enthusiasm for this Korvus, but I voted against this. How many people would come here to discuss the news of the day if there was a whole other board dedicated to entertainment? I wouldn't think all that many.

Yeah, basically. Fragmenting every thing is largely pointless at this time.

@Serraph105: I am fairly neutral about it, to be honest. I just decided to put it forth because enough people seemed to want to see this happen.

I don't really think it's such a bad idea though...I know a lot of people think OT is just for religion, politics and "how to talk to girls" and don't really discuss movies like they want to because they feel it doesn't fit the board. Same with anime discussion that somehow got cornered into one thread even though people are free to make more threads about it (guess because of the "if there's a sticker it should go there" mentality that is true for most things but not for this).

I also think that there's nothing wrong with people with specific interests gathering in a specific place...if someone is only interested in discussing movies and not religion or politics then they won't participate in those threads whether there's a new board or not.

Anime/manga should have its own board, tv/movies shouldn't.

I agree with this. OT is nearly dead, why would you split it up?

@korvus: Because I don't like anime/manga and I would like to see it gone from OT. I like tv/movies and would like it to stay in OT.

I can respect that. It's true that I like to talk more on Anime then I do on Movies [but not all the time] and yeah, I like to see just Anime/Manga board cause you got some people here, who are Anime fans, just Manga fans, and hentai. I feel that OT should be also a good place to post movies/TV.

@korvus: not really, people now care too much about newer gen games and hardly ever discuss oldies, in theory you could talk about PS1/PS2 games in the PS section or about NES/SNES/N64 games in the Ninty section but it does´t happen that way.

We're having difficulty maintaining activity in one forum, why would we split traffic further? We have a sticky for anime/manga and its more than enough; a separate forum will be a ghost town.

@GazaAli: The problem with that sticky is just an Anime recommendation thread and later, that ended up getting sticky. Maybe GS should change it to Anime/Manga discussion of all types of Anime would be nice unless GS wants to delete the post and start all over again.

Yeah let's just kick OT in the face with the heel of our boots while it's down. We have enough trouble getting traffic here, why redirect it elsewhere?

@davillain-: Well, the discussion does not have to begin and end with that sticky...you're more than welcome to make anime/manga threads in OT if the new board idea doesn't go forth.

Sticky threads in OT will do. No new boards required if you ask me. After all, if there are new boards, OT will in practice become godforsaken.

Edit: For the first time in my entire life, I agree with the majority; 59% have voted for what I've voted for.

Oh and, we desperately need a sticky football thread in OT. General Sports board sux balls pretty bad.

@elkoldo: The consensus in the mod team is that there are already too many stickies in OT, so it probably won't happen.

@korvus: if I'm not wrong, the ratio is 5/40. Don't be so tightwad, you can bring up to 10/40. It won't hurt anyone.
