It's funny how JUST NOW this trailer has been released to the public. I've already seen this trailer a year ago when I was at San Diego Comic-Con in 2008.
But otherwise... Yes, it looks awesome -- and I'm sure any fan of the original is stoked about the film.
Can't tell if it's half animated, half life action though..is that what it's going for?

That's exactly how the first Tron was. It was half live-action, half animated. Only this one will be updated with the latest and greatest computer animation.
I've never actually seen the original Tron, but that looked pretty darn cool. I like how the visuals aren't realistic, but simply very cool and nice to look at.
I saw the original when I was 12. I've bought 3 VHS tapes of TRON because I wore them out. I finally got the 20th anniversary edition a few years ago when it was released on DVD and I'm now waiting for it on blu-ray. I'm sure it will come out when this is released at the theaters.
I might add that as a huge fan of the original, this got my heart beating. Can't wait. I hope it's done right!
Yahoo trailers never ever look good for some reason. Even their HD options. The viral site has the best versions right up to uber-HD rez. Same as the yahoo one but higher quality.
That looked pretty cool. Too bad I never saw the original because this one might have made a tad bit of sense.
It's never late to see the original Tron. And that goes for everyone in here who says they've never heard of or seen this classic Disney film. I wish I saw the first movie before I saw this trailer. then I couldve had a fanboygasm. the new movie looks great. on yahoo it says that jeff bridge's son gets sucked into the game universe where jeff bridge's character has been living in for 25 years :O then they go on some adventure or something

That's exactly what I said. I saw this trailer a year ago when I was at Comic-Con. It's cool that we finally have a high quality trailer to watch at home now, though. For those of you who have seen the original - did the neon yellow character sound like Kevin Flynn when he was talking at the end? It kinda makes sense when I think of it. All this viral marketing for Tron Legacy shows that Flynn has been missing all these years, but he's back. Perhaps he was trapped in the game or something.

well I haven't seen the original, but wasn't the first movie basically animation with people in it too? The people were never CGIed, just placed in a CGI environment. I think the CGI faces and people look stupid.
