district 9 is awesome

at first the pace of the movie was quite slow, with all the documentary-style scenes going on. even the main character wasn't too interesting at first. i almost thought the movie was going to be a dissapointment. then, the pace started to pick up, everything gets better, more action scenes, lots of emotional moments, and the main character evolved into someone more interesting. the ending was epic, though i can see that the plot was written with a sequel in mind. the plot and location of the filming is excellent. honestly, this is the movie of the year to me, and though it cannot be compared to the dark knight, i seriously think this is the best movie i've ever watched.

so, seriously, go out and watch it now.

It does look interesting

I like the almost home-made feel of the short film. The movie trailer looks too refined, too much special effects and what not.

Well, with the number of reviews growing (it's at 33 right now), it has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes!

Its the best movie I've seen this year, great story, great special effects, epic ending, sweet weapons and nice action scenes

Not trying to prove you wrong or anything, but don't write it off because you thought it looked like that garbage of a movie, Cloverfield.
