District 9 was awesome and at the same time made me cry...*spoilers*

*may contain spoilers* i just saw it tonight after reading review on ign and people telling me how good it is and it was.....5 stars..no question. It was extremly sad, especially towards the end when the alien was getting beat and he was like "i promise 3 years just go....." the background music added to the effect. My eyes got watery, this happen to you guys? what did you think of district 9?

It definitely made me feel something. I thought it was amazing. I give it a 9/10.

I thought it was a good movie, but it wasn't even close to sad.

wow people are tripping over District 9. A few weeks ago no one cared. The movie is okay in my opinion. One of the Best movie of the summer definately.

well ya i knew, i just didnt expect to see him in his full alien form in the movie. It just shocked me that he was making that thing that his wife had, and i was like omg its him!!

You know, that's really the one little thing about the movie that seriously pissed me off.

After about the third ****ing time it happened, I just wanted to scream at the screen, "STOP USING YOUR ***DAMN CELL PHONE!!"

I mean, JESUS. I understand that he's in a very emotional situation, but COME ON. Really?!

I was kind of wondering this. Unless I heard wrong, Christopher told whatshisface that he could only reverse the effects of the mutation if it was done very soon. In fact (again, IIRC) he said that they were running out of time.

But then he says that he'll return in 3 years to fix him up, even after he's fully mutated?

The part that made me really laugh is when they broadcasted on TV that he had sex with an alien.

great movie. i didn't like the beginning very much. SPOILER!!! but the part when he grabs the gun in the nigerian campfor the so called suicide missionwas epic. i was like "shoot those ********s" then i liked it. End of SPolier!!!!

Heres the thing about the cell phone... He jacked it off some guy on the street and called his own house and Tonia mother picks up. Did she just save the number? Because how did Tonia get the number to call him? I am sure the mother probably copied it down or he gave it to her? I don't know... I am over analyzing this :P

Well I think that's where this movie separates itself from just the generic action movie. The main characters were actually weak and had emotions for other beings. None of the heroes in the movie were portrayed as the typical action movie badass who can't die or cry and love having their closeups in slow-motion.

alright so um at the beginning didn't the soldiers board the mother ship to bring the wounded aliens to district 9? So if the mother ship took christopher back into the mother ship, can't the soldiers just board the mother ship again, see whats up, then capture christopher again?

I thought it was solid, not great but I give it a 7.5, maybe an 8. It lost steam near the end and I didnt care much about the main human character so his fate didnt make me feel much. It was refreshing to see a good sci fi film this decade though, there are really not that many I can think of. Moon is still much better to me but District 9 was good too:P

Minigun wasn't a .50 cal. It was most likely a Dylan minigun which is either 5.56mm or 7.62mm. From the size of the gun when someone was using it then it was probably a 5.56mm minigun. Also, even small-arms fire was damaging the mechsuit. If you think back, whenever they show Wikus from inside the suit looking through the holo-display there were bright dots popping up all over the place on the display when he was being fired on. I'm going to assume those are the impact hits on the suit's surface.
