Ugly character design though. The ants in Bug's life were a lot more cute looking. Great, this topic reminded me of the war scene from that movie that scarred my childhood. It's not that bad when I watch it now, but for a six year old watching it at the time it was pretty graphic. But in real life, I doubt insects would have the mental capacity to have an all-out war. They'll certainly have confrontations from time to time though.
Yes, Ants Compete with Rival Conolies often, even to the level of outright warfare. I've also heard of Bee's ganging together and warring with wasp hives, but That was told to me by a less than trustowrthy classmate. :P

I've seen two colonies of ants having a huge war in our driveway. Several times actually. They're the tiniest little ants, but there's so many it makes this weird brown area on the concrete. I'm always tempted to use some weapons of mass destruction on them, but figure what the heck - let them have their big important battle lol
