Do girls ever realize that they talk too much sometimes?

Let me make it clear, I love talkative women but do they ever realize a man's disinterest in their chatter?

When they're off blabbering and the poor uninterested guy just replies with "Mhmm", does it ever occur to them that hey ... maybe he doesn't want to listen to what I have to say. I've never even seen the "Mhmm" being questioned before; they just go with the flow.

Some people may realize and some people may not.

My linguistics instructor mentioned something interesting that I thought I'd share. In a study of women and men they found that there was not a significant difference in the amount of talking between the sexes. However, they did find that even when the men and women spoke the same amount, the men perceived the women as having talked more.

I've met a lot of females that don't talk a whole lot. Even I talk a whole lot more than most people I know.

Generally the only ramblers I encounter are men. I embrace brevity when it comes to speech, my guy friends go on and on all ay about anything and everything ad nauseam. Not fighting a generalization with a generalization, just saying that all kinds of people have overactive gums, not just women.
