Looks like we know who buys their stockings at Target.I didn't know Target had the same stigma attached to it as Wal Mart :?

I feel ashamed shopping for clothes at gap, and I'm a dude and considers himself nontrendy at all. I haven't gone clothes shopping for like a year. I'm pretty sure girls are the same or worse.

Depends on which girls, I guess. I go to Wal-Mart all the time, and I routinely see girls who apparently Have No Shame whatsoever.
But then again, I don't know why you focused on females when the same probably applies to males. I know men who wouldn't be caught dead buying clothes at Wal-Mart, and I know men who shop at Wal-Mart and only WISH they could afford Wal-Mart's clothes. It's sort of a "lower class" store, at least as far as clothing is concerned. And there are obviously both men and women who'd feel ashamed shopping there. There are obviously also a lot of others who DON'T feel ashamed to shop there, or else they'd be less-inclined to shop there and then Wal-Mart wouldn't do nearly as much business. Remember that they only sell clothes because people buy them. If everyone was just so ashamed to buy clothes from Wal-Mart, then obviously Wal-Mart would be selling a lot less clothes. They'd then be forced to get rid of their clothing department.

plebeians wooo hooo yeahhhhh partey! If you don't buy your cloth at a dedicated fabric store, you are a plebeian and should be ashame.

I don't give a crap where I buy my clothes. Levis are Levis and Dockers are Dockers whether they're at Walmart or the mall. Of course, I'm a guy. I'm not picky about where I shop. I'd even shop in a pawn shop if what I want is in there.
My wife is low-maintenance and have no problems shopping in Walmart which makes me glad. Of course when there's a need, we do go to tailor shops for custom suits and gowns.
But how will I be able to differentiate between the cool kids and the nerds if it doesn't matter?Target's awesome and not quite as "bad" as Walmart. It doesn't matter where you buy stuff as long as you like it.

I'm a guy and I feel ashame. Not everything is bad there though. Better stuff than Wal-Mart. Clothes there only last me a few weeks and then they start to rip.
Can't really find my style in either store. I invest in much bigger too.
No. It's not important for you to like it. It's important for them to like it. Them being everyone else.Target's awesome and not quite as "bad" as Walmart. It doesn't matter where you buy stuff as long as you like it.

I'm a guy and I buy my clothes at Target and Kmart, even shoes, everything. My friends don't mind and I'm certainly not ashamed, I'm actually proud that I'm different.

I (won't) keep that in mind next time I'm shopping.

You really should. Because, I've got to say, I'm not diggin' it. Other people's happiness is paramount.[QUOTE="hippiesanta"]

Why should they? If they like what both stores have to offer, then there is no reason to be ashamed.
Target has some nice looking clothes anyway.
No. No matter how much you pay for them or where you buy them, clothes are just clothes. If I see something I like I'll buy it, but it doesn't really matter to me where it's from.
Lately, I have been buying clothes at Ace Hardware, Bass Pro Shop and I recently picked up a pair of coveralls (for work) at Tractor Supply, and a military surplus store. Carhartt clothing just can't be found anywhere and Wally World doesn't carry them. That said, Wranglers are Wranglers, Dickies are Dickies and Starter is Starter no matter where they are purchased. If Wal-Mart carried Nikes, people would probably buy them there. I have a couple of shirts from Wal-Mart and I like the feel of the fabric and they are pretty decent.
I don't think many people feel ashamed for buying clothes at Wal-Mart. In some places, that is all there is (think small towns like Jesup, GA) as far as a department store or even grocery store.
i see no problems with getting your clothes at walmart, they have the best graphic design tee shirts I think
