Do Hate Crimes punishments = unfair treatment?

Well, what do you think? I think that giving someone a worst punishment for muredering a homosexual more than if they killed a heterosexual is unfair treatment. (Obviously, I'm NOT saying it's okay to kill anyone.) I think that murdering someone is a hate crime, no matter what. There shouldn't be any group that gets more protection under the law than another.

It's up for debate. If the suspect has a background and many ties with hate groups or the likes, by all means I say don't hold back.

And I thought that all Americancitizens are supposed to have equal protection under the law.

Obviously you didn't know that some things can be more fair than others.
