I like both. I dont think thats the issue though. the issue is when hip-hop fans dont like rock they just keep their peace, whereas rock fans that dont like hip-hop always have a snarky comment. I find it to be like that offline also.mattykovaxYeah, like "You can't spell crap without rap" It's annoying how vocal they can be
I remember on my bus two years ago, the hip hop listeners and the metal heads were debating on which is better.
I myself like both, but when it comes to metal I don't usually like any.
I respect everything but Scremo and Polka. Screamo singers that is, annoy me the hell off, you can't sing? so you scream. Polka is music for people who don't enjoy music.TheBigTicket21
What? No polka? :(

it just seems to me like they couldnt understand music and play that, either that or those Germans are awfully drunk.[QUOTE="vidplayer8"][QUOTE="TheBigTicket21"]I respect everything but Scremo and Polka. obviously
on a side note, I don't respect Kenny G Jazz
I sure do, I ask because it's clear the general consensus between hardcore rock fans is that hip hop is the scum of the music industry. I'd say otherwise. Hip hop takes as much talent as anything out there but hey I'll let the poll talk/
What do hip hop fans think about rock.Toriko42
I dont know where you got that from. These hardcore rock fans youre talking about probably just hear whats on the radio and dont know anything about hip hop. Hip hop gets a bad rap (no pun intended) these days because of all the kinds of rap you hear on the radio but if you show these same people real hip hop im sure their opinions would change.
Anyway I dont see why hip hop fans wouldnt accept rock as a legitimate music form. Its so close funk and blues and all that in many ways, all of which pretty much helped to spawn hip hop in the first place.

Of course rock is a legitimate form of music. Listen. A lot of basic rock and hip hop rythms originate from the work chant rythms of slaves in the USA. Blues, rock and hip hop all share similar origins and history.
Rock = real music with instruments and lyrics. HipHop = Prerecorded sounds ontop of highly highly computer edited lyrics.HelbrecHmm... yeah... you probably should have gone with rap is crap.

Rap - poetry with beautiful music to set the pace and tone
Metal - Middle Aged people shrilling as loud as they can in a desperate attempt to cover up the cacophonous mess they call music.
Two can play ignorance :|
clear the general consensus between hardcore rock fans is that hip hop is the scum of the music industry.Toriko42Thats a pretty big claim. I love to rock out to some Symphony X or Ensiferum, but I still love to listen to House of Pain or Fun Lovin' Criminals.
I am a big hip hop head, I usually listen to East Coast grimey gangsta ****. But I do like some rock, if they are screaming the whole time then hell to the nah. But there is alot of system of a down that I enjoy and some other songs by various bands.
Good music is everywhere so naturally you gotta spread out, so even tho I listen to rap doesn't mean I don't like other genres. But a good guitar riff helps as well.
Oh and when they take a rock track and sample part into a beat it can be heavenly and ten times better then the original song. i.e. Changes, If I ruled the world, and my favorite G Joint by Styles P.
Do yourself a favor and check out that track because its sick.

Rap isn't about playing a guitar, it's about the lyrics. And you do realise a lot of rappers have real instruments incorporated into their acts. See The Roots. I really like rap but Lil Wayne isn't good... If you listen to the lyrics, they make no sense, whatsoever.
