Or just nice "dress up" clothes? My buddy died the other day and has a wake and stuff later today. Ive never been to one before so i don't really have any idea what to wear.

Black suit, black tie, white shirt... is the usual stuff. Or white suit, white tie and white shirt if you want the Zoolander look.

Pretty much the same as to a wedding, except make sure it's dark, not bright.

Wear a suit, don't be that guy in a sweater or a band t-shirt. at the very least wear a nice collared shirt with dark dressy pants.

Yes, its expected that you wear a Suit.

i guess its a sign of respect, the fact that you have bothered to "dress up" for the Decased.

It's expected to go in a suit, but I've been to weddings in jeans and band tees before. Once I went in shorts and a shirt. It was bloody hot that day. I'd want to wear one of those tuxedo t shirts to a funeral or wedding though. Also grow out a mullet.

You wear a suit and look grim. If you don't have one, you can just wear dark clothes.

In my family the men usually wear a suit, in dark colours like navy blue or dark gray. I've seen once, at my grand fathers funeral, one of my family members in a joggin' suit... He is on the side of the family we never talk to, so it didn't matter much.... First time I saw him in my life x.x

I've only been to two, both grandparents, and wore a suit both times. The shoes weren't best suited for carrying the coffin down the path in that amount of rain, nearly fell over but grabbed someone. Would have been awkward.
