Do random people ask you for money?

Today I was waiting to cross the street when some guy on a bike stops in front of me and asks me for money, here's how it went.

Guy: "can I have a dollar"

Me: "why"

Guy: "for the bus"

Me: "but your riding a bike"

Guy: .......

Me: "I'm not giving you a dollar"

I was thinking to myself wtf is with this guy, just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences?

He didn't look homeless or any thing btw

Homeless bums yeah...

I really hate people that ask for money.

Nope never happened to me, but if someone ever did ask me for money, I'd say no. I work too hard for the cash I earn each week, and I'm not just going to give it away to some random person, that's for sure.

It happened all the time when I was living in Leicester.

One guy said "My car's broken down up the road, can you give me 20p to use the payphone?" I would have believed him, if we weren't standing 20 yards from an auto repair garage. I just laughed and said no.

Homeless people, but that's it....I usually just go get them some food, partly because I want to know what my money is paying for but mostly because I hardly ever carry cash

No... I don't believe I've asked -You for money before...

Once at the bus station someone asked me if I had change or 1 or 2 euros.

He didnt seem homeless. Those people are most probably drug addicts.

Well yeah I've had people ask for gas money a few times but never anyone ask for me to pay for the tank before that. :P

anyways On topic: I already answered this but I will just add that one time I was rapping along with gangstas paradise with my window down in downtown atlanta and I looked over and there was a homeless man with a sign laughing at me, I felt awkward so I gave him a bag of chips I had in the car. Lesson learned

One time me and my friend went to the mall and on the way back his carran out of gasand we just realized none of us brought money. So we went outside walgreens to ask people for money and luckily this lady gave us $13...but it was embarassing though..i didnt even feel like taking it. Anyways when I see a beggar in the middle of the street near a traffic light while its raining or blazing hot outside I hand them a dollar through the window.

I've had that happen a couple of times. I always reply by pointing and saying "Toronto is that way"

It's not a normal occurrence in my city to see homeless people.

You know... I use to fall for that...

But I realized that the money I gave to them could have been used for drugs or alcohol I just stop give out money period.

The same thing happened to me. Some pretty girl pulled up right beside me, as I was about to go into a Office Depot...I made eye contact and smiled, and then she asked if she could have some money for gas. Her car was nicer and newer than mine. I got really annoyed, but I politely said, no.

edit, I thought to myself...really?!...you can afford a new car but are asking strangers to pay for your gas?! Unbelievable.

it happened to me once.. but am sure he was homeless.. i still didn't give him anything

like 2 or 5 times a week! and it sucks!

Not really. Most of the time it's just people asking me for a dollar at school.
