Here's an interesting question. I don't think this is the appropriate place to ask but oh well...I've been asking around anyway.

here it goes. I worked in japan for a few months (i have dual citizenship, US and Japanese), but it did not go very well. I'd like to erase those months from my life and it would be great if american recruiters didn't find out about this unfortunate venture of mine. Does anyone here know if recruiters are able to check up on information from an overseas job? Can they even know if you've held a job in another country?

Thank you for reading :D

What kind of job? McD's ain't gonna give a rat's ass, but applying for CEO I am sure it'd be mentioned.

It depends. What is your favorite illegal thing to do?

Min. wage? They'd do a quick check of criminal record, and ask of any previous experience in your field. If what you did wasn't illegal it probably won't matter. Of course, if it was an entry level job in Human Resources...

Hi Natalie,

I was in the Army for 3 years, and let me tell you, I don't know what branch you're looking into, but please save yourself the trouble of enlisting. The military is NOT what it used to be. Believe you me. I've seen some of the most horrible things done that are illegal and innapropriate. Also, giving up your life in essence for years on end is NOT fun, and it's what you'll be doing. Sure you get leave twice a year, but it's not enough. I hated my family before I enlisted, but once I was gone, my old friends and family meants EVERYTHING to me. Being on the other-side of the sea for a year, not knowing if you're going to make it really messes with ones mind. I know you'll be behind a desk, but still. The people that you'll work with are animals, and pigs. And no matter WHAT a recruiter will tell you, I know for a fact.

I was in recruiting school before I left the Army. I know ever lie and trick in the book. They will be really nice to you and act like your friend, but trust me, it's ALL numbers. They are trained to find minorities with bad grades and bad family environments and are taught to befriend people who have low self esteeme. I am just trying to help you out here. Your choice is your own, but for god sakes please be informed. Ask those who have been there who aren't recruiters. Ask me anything, and I'll tell you the truth. I had an okay time, but it sucked my life away and it's been 5 months since I've been back and getting my life back on track is the hardest thing I've ever done. It's like being born again. Please, be informed. Please.

Minus hacking, I don't think there is a way of erasing it. They can probably see it, but it would take some searching.
