Maybe because I'm in my early twenties but I never met an atheist girl. All fine girls I met believe in God. Some go to church occasionally, others believe in God but find religion boring. I wouldn't deny a girl because she disregards God, and it's not like I would be missing out on an "angel" with a girl like that.

So do the people you date acknowledge God? Date; as in having an intimate relationship with another.

Two girls I dated pretty much believe the exact same things I do. Another at one time did not live a repentant Christian life but I lead her to Christ before we ever went out (never became more than a friendship, just went out a few times). My intention wasn't to convert her so that I could date her, it just worked out that way. Only once have I dated someone that was not a Christian. She still believed in God but we approached life from radically different perspectives in such a way that things would never work out.

I don't think it should matter as long as she doesn't push her beliefs (atheist, religious, or otherwise) onto you.

One did when I was with her. Another 'found' religion a few years after we broke up.

This, I am a Christian but I do not see why someone else's faith should matter. God says not to judge others in the bible, does he not?

I've never dated anyone who was religious. I'd have no problem dating a religious person but there aren't that many of them let alone ones that I'm interested in.

My ex gf and current gf were somewhat religious prior to dating me. After dating me for some time they became atheists.

I think every girl I've dated with the exception of 1 has been an atheist. Guess it depends on where you live.

As an atheist it would eb such a contentious point that I don't see us lasting, even if we found common ground elsewher ein our lives.

Religious people tend to embrace religion as a fundamental core of their being. Many atheists would only see an incredibly irrational person, because everyewhere they look, they would find some religious belief colors their perception/interpretation/actions.

I have seen it done though - but it would be an immeidate turn off for me for anythign more serious than a booty call. Hell, dealing with some overtly religious people in my family is sometimes a pain.

Luckily, my wife is not religious.

Why? Everyone has their own preferences. There's nothing wrong with it, just as there's nothing wrong with a Christian only wanting to date Christians.

I wouldn't date a woman who would throw crosses made of holy water at my special place before we did the deedy thing, but making water into a cross shape when you throw it is a cool skill.

can't you make one single post about religion without trying to attack atheists, it's pathetic

i've dated atheists girls and they were as great as any religious ones, if you think religion somehow makes people be better persons think again.

For someone that hasn't dated, you seem to have a lot of opinions on gender relations.

but he's actually right, there is no problem with dating people who have different beliefs than you as long as those believes don't become a bother in the relationship.

Not arguing with this point, he constantly posts in threads about chauvanism and with this new information it is very clear that his perspective is that of an outsider looking in.

I don't need to have dated anyone to understand gender relations. And on a related note, I don't need to have dating experience in order to say with confidence that I don't mind having as a partner someone who believes in a god yet is socially liberal. I know how I relate to people of other faiths, so I know that I wouldn't have a problem with such a partner.

If they asked me "Have you accepted Jesus Christ, Son of God, as your savior?", that date would have ended right at that moment. I don't date so I don't have a record on how many times that happened...

I'm not dating anyone at the moment (though hopefully that changes soon...), but seeing as I'm one of only two atheists that I know, there is a good chance that anyone I end up dating in my school does.
