I am currently trying to find out the answer to this ongoing issue as I am trying to find a conclusion to this question for a project I am currently doing at college. I am not only doing research with secondary data but would also like the views of the gaming community on the point in question, anything on your mind about this topic, you can post it. You may also want to mention cases such as the infamous case of when a teenage boy killed his friend and claimed that Manhunt inspired him to do it.

To some people I would expect it, but those are the ones that can't differentiate (spelling?) between fantasy and reality.

No, for there are far too many unknown variables. Btw, why isolate gaming(Unless you are required by your school project).

It's easy to pick a scrapegoat rather then take resonsibility when you've made a mistake. Half of the times a crime in done and videogames are to blame then it's a scrapgoat, the other remaining half is filled with people who either can not separate fiction from reality, or are just balant morons to be influenced by a videogame to commit a criminal act. There are more people who play videogames and have no criminal record then those that play videogames and then go out and commit criminal acts.

All forms of media have violence, sex, and drug use. There is even mention of violence sex and drug use in the bible. Some people are violent and others arent. It has more to do with you upbringing and environment then evil video games and rap music.

its really easy to blame videogames right? when someone does something bad, videogames did it!!! after I played gta, I went out and just opened a car and punched the guy inside and took the car then I went to have sex with some hookers and after I finished I killed them and took money back! videogames dont encourage criminal behavior...
