Do you act after much thought/assumption or act instinctly/naturally?

Most of the time when I breath it's instinctively but when I go to school that is a deliberate action.

Over-thinking things is my biggest problem in life. It affects every part of my life, and it's often maddening.

As I learn more about epigenetics, evolutionary psychology and branches of philosophy, the more I feel as though we really don't have a great deal of control over what we do. I don't really understand the question, but I'll assume you're talking about conscious thought and being unaware of what's going on. When people drive, they're on autopilot. When you're walking somewhere, you're not actively thinking "ok, now I'm moving my right foot. Now I'm moving my left foot...etc". No, because we aren't consciously aware of it. It's because our brains want to conserve energy, and constantly being aware of things greatly increases the need for calories. I would argue that human beings are good at rationalizing behaviour after the fact, but are pretty unaware of things going on beyond our ability to sense it.

Sometimes I act instictly and sometimes I over-analyze the issue and end up following my instict again.

I think too much, I wish I was retarded.. I don't really but people who are dumb as bricks seem to be more happier with there ignorance and naivety although they act on impulse more which can mean good or bad concequences.

I tend to act after much though.

But it really depends on the situation.
