Weather it's going to school for a Master's in order to make lots of money or going to the gym everyday to get or maintain that 6 pack, does it all come down to impressing girls? Most people say they just do it for themselves and to feel accomplished. I feel that I need to find a good job with a good status to attract a cute girl who also has money so we can start a family. I feel that I need a descent looking car to drive in so I don't look like crap driving a piece of garbage. Is everything we work for in life just to find a special someone to get married to and have a family?

Yes. When my goal was to make a castle out of building blocks in kindergarten, it was to impress the ladies.

Depends on the guy. Same logic can apply to women. For me, no. I usually do what I do in life because I feel like it.

Yes. When I attempt to better myself as a human being, I do it to attract the ladies. When I work on bettering my artistic abilites, it is to attract the ladies. When I work on making something out of myself, it is for the ladies...

Somehow I doubt any two-way ANOVAs I do will get me laid. So no, I'm not really doing them for the ladies.

Yes, when I would get A's on my science test and everyone else would fail, it was because I was trying to attract the popular girls.

No. I want to write, and to create, and to live comfortably. For myself. In fact, a lot of my interest in working out and dressing myself well isn't really directly related to impressing girls either.

Not everything I do is for the purpose of impressing girls, but I will admit that I do put a great portion of my effort into being worth having. As it is my desire to date a girl who loves Jesus does this not mean theologically from a Christian perspective that she would be a child of the living God and a princess to the king? As such, should I myself not put every effort that I am capable into making myself worthy of her affection? A princess deserves no beggar, no abuser, and no fornicator but one who treats her as the child of the king. Ephesians 5:25 states, "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." If I seek to take the Bible seriously then does this not mean that I must prepare beforehand to make certain that she will be treated with absolute respect and dignity? Jesus gave his very life for the benefit of the church. I am of the belief that I, whether literally or metaphorically, must do the same for the one I am to marry. Now do not get me wrong here, I am not advocating that this must mean I must have a fancy car and the like but that I must be one of notable character, dignity, respect, and loyalty. If I am incapable of take care of my own self morally, physically, emotionally, and financially then I am even more incapable of fending for another. As is stated both in Ephesians 5 and Genesis, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."

That may be the case for a barnyard peacock whose only purpose is to strut its colorful feathers and get the attention of hens, but I would consider it a very sorry meaning for a man's life. Since some of my ambitions are actually counter-productive to attracting women, I can safely say that I do not fall into such a category.

No, I do this stuff because I want to. I feel like you are going to have a hard time finding love if you are counting on money and a six pack to get on for you. According to all of the girls I have ever talked to about this subject, they don't really care how rich or ripped you are in the end. I am the same way...I am more likely to initially get to know someone if they are attractive or rich, but I have never fell in love with a girl because she is hot, its because she is someone I really enjoy being around.

I read a thought like that once in a book called 11 minutes It basically said that everything people did and worked for was ultimately to get those 11 minutes (sex). You go to school work your way through college become a professional just so one day one girl gets impressed by your status and you ultimately end up in bed. Girls dress up, talk to friends about guys, go shopping for new clothes so one day one guy meets her finds her pretty and at some later point in their relationship they end up in bed. A guy goes to the gym to look better so that one day a girl can see his body gets impressed and he gets those 11 minutes. I can see some truth behind that then again that was just a random thought on a girl's fictional diary on a book about love.

I can't speak for the guys, but I do know that I personally want to work as something that I enjoy, not because I want to be rich to attract a guy. When go out and want to look good I don't do so to attract men, it's when I get compliments from women that I feel like I've done a good job, attracting men seems to be the side effect of that. (if that all makes sense) I once heard somewhere: "When a man dresses up it's to look good for women, when a woman dresses up it's to look good for other women".

Eh, 11 minutes isn't terrible or anything, it's certainly enough time to achieve the desired result (unless your girlfriend has an issue of some kind).

Absolutely not. I live for my own interests and to help others, and if my actions attract a girl, then that's cool. That's how it's always worked for me up to this point.

Yes it's pretty much the meaning to life. Become a successful individual, find someone worth having kids with, the end. We try and convince ourselves their is more to life, but honestly thats pretty much it. Pretty much every human instinct revolves around creating and protecting a family. Humans however are known for fighting their instincts.

No. While in its way it helps you, should you be looking for a partner, but its not WHY we do these things. If you live just to attract women, theres something wrong imo.

No. What I am working for is to better man kind. not to amass a fortune, and live like a rich elite like its some sort of club.
