Exactly this poll fails becuase you may believe Global warming is happening as part of a natural process, the earth is always heating and cooling it's a natural cycle, we may slightly speed it up, but it's happening regardless, morons like Al Gore use fear to gain supporty if you believe him your a fool.

This scientist has some small arguments with Gore's assertions, but he says that it's an otherwise excellent summation of the issues regarding global warming. I don't know how you can blantantly deny global warming when it's a bit uncertain, but still clearly leaning toward the theory of a human caused climate change. At least keep an open mimd.

Yes, some scientists indeed dispute human caused global warming. But a greater volume support it. That doesn't necessarily indicate that the theory is correct, but it sure does mean that it's a very legitimate assertion. You can't deny it based on the basis that some scientists oppose it. But the again, I suppose I'm always wrong because my opinion is different from yours

I believe in global warming.

However, I believe it is something we will not be able to stop.

Earth has had ice ages in the past.

Why not have a global heat wave to even things out?

It's a debated issue, though the reasonable majority supports it. You can't say definitively that it is absolutely right or absolutely wrong one way or the other. I choose to believe it is right, because of the majority scientific consensus.

Agreed. All the stuff to do with global warming is disproved. If I'm honost I think it's a way for the goverment to increase taxs and because their looking for excuses to get out of looking for renewabe energy sources when non renewables run out.

Don't be so confident in yourself. 530 climate scientists from 27 different countries were polled. 82% of scientists agreed that global warming was indeed occuring, and 55.8% agreed that it was being caused by humans. That would be a majority. Link in one of my previous posts.

Sorry for having a life bman, i wonder what that stands for... Anyways I'd like to add that just because a majority believes somthing it hradly makes it evenb remotley true. Also I'd like to know the exact wording of these polls. If you were to ask scientists if they thought humans affected global warming they would possibly say yes, but if you asked them if it was the primary cuase of global warming they very well may disagree. Polls can be very biased, so i'm just saying don't believe everything you read.

[QUOTE="bman784"]Since kingyotoX has failed to respond, it appears that his theory about me being owned is as unfounded as his theory that global warming is undeniably not caused by humans. Next time, stick to the argument;)kingyotoX

I never implied that the majority opinion made it unequivocally true. If you had read the document, it said of that specified question: "Note that the question asked was not whether or not human activities have any effect on climate, but whether climate change is "mostly the result" of human activity." So yes, the implication of the 55.8% in agreement was that humans are the primary cause. It didn't seem very biased to me.

I see I wasn't trying to imply this was a biased poll mkerely that polls can be very biased. I'm not trying to dispute human effects on the enviroment, but I still feel it's mostly a scare tactic. GLobal warming is a big issue obviously and I think weve reached somewhat of a stalemate. Lets leave it with we both dissagree by the time we know whos correct we may both be dead.

Yes. Partially has to do with the Co2 emissions causing a greenhouse effect like you hear about mostly. And partially from the sun giving off more heat than usual. This could be just as bad though as the greenhouse gases in the air will trap more of that heat.

A couple of post ago you were claiming that all of the facts were against me and that I was completely and utterly wrong, and now it's a stalemate:) I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and not claim complete ownage, because that would be diametrically opposed to your previous assertion that I'm the one who's constantly being owned. I have no problem arguing with you. All I ask is a little objectivity, as in not resorting to personal attacks;)

Woah when did I personally attack you? we are very different people Bman who believe very different things. To be honest I hate debating i'm downright horrible at it. but to be clear if I atracked you i'm sorry, i'm a passionate person. Lets face it there's facts supporting both sides so in reality we don't know for sure whos correct, maybe some day we will and the me or you can bring up this thread for future ownage.
