lets be realistic here. im not talking about little green men and ufo's and nonsense like that. im talking about actual life on another planet. a civilization.

i honestly find it impossible for there not to be life outside of earth. i mean just looking at this Video shows how small we are. its amazing.

if your religious, whats your religions opinion on the subject? if there are any...or are they still trying to argue that the world is in the middle of the universe, and that god made the extra stars just to fill our night sky. lol

anyways, your thoughts?

i recommend watching this Video

With how big the universe is, I think there has to be at least one other planet capable of sustaining life.

Not nessecarily a civilization, but any life form. Which, of course, has to exist.

Judging by the fact that there're millions of solar systems like ours, there has to be at least another planet that can sustain life even if its not a carbon life form.

It'd be almost impossible for there not to be.

not believing in aliens is the equivalent to not believing that you are alive.

have they visited us though? Well there is a lot of evidence but nobody really knows.

I think it would actually be impossible that there would be no life outside of the earth, especially on a microscopic level.

Beyond that I would like to think there might be hundreds of other civilisations similar to ours, more and less advanced.

Life is an overrated phenomenon. I reckon life is out there, we'll probably never encounter it though. It'd be pretty arrogant to think we are the only ones.

Verily I find it an absurd belief that aliens do not exist. The universe is too grand and the probabilities against it too high.

Most likely, I highly doubt out of all the millions of star systems and billions of planets that ours is the only and absolute only that has life and possibly a civilization.

We cannot be certain unless we actually find life. However, not finding aliens does not disprove their existence since the universe is so large. The only thing we have until then is probability, probability that is based upon uncertain presuppositions that differ between people. Is there life outside of earth? I'm not sure but it's a vain thing to argue in either direction until more concrete evidence is found.

To see is to believe, sure, but still

Also not necessarily directed towards you as I don't know your stance on religion, but I just thought it was funny how when religious people discuss this topic all of a sudden you need evidence and proper scientific methods to believe aliens exist, funny how those same critical thinking skills aren't put towards their belief in an invisible man.

Seeing is believing doesn't really work in the same way there's probably trillions of other planets out there... it would be hard for us to look at all of them. Your asking to look at something we have no way of looking at.

Well see the thing is im not saying i 100% believein it, but think about it 1 8 planets on our solar system sustains life. And there is evidence that life MAY have existed on Mars at one point so pretty much 2 out of 9. Now that our solar system, which is in a Galaxy that contains millions of solar systems, and there's other galaxies out there. That's wayyyy to many possibilities for other life to exist on other planets. I just don't see how there wouldn't be something else out there.

Lifeon other planets - yes totally. The galaxy is too big to have just one planet randomly spawn a lifeform. As to how those aliens look, at what point their civilization is at (compared to ours) and where they are... No clue. But I am pretty sure they're not little green men with flying sausers:P.

It's impossible to argue either way. We do not know the probability of the formation of life. It doesn't matter how large the universe is. The probability of the formation of life could be much smaller than the universe is large.

The universe is definitely finite...

I wouldn't say we know whether or not the universe is actually finite for sure.

I shouldn't say definitely, but the overwhelming evidence says it's finite. If the universe was infinite, it wouldn't be expanding - if it already went on forever, there'd be nothing to expand to. However, our universe is expanding, as evidenced by the Doppler shift.

I have always said this to people that don't believe in aliens, if the universe is so big then why is the earth the only planet with life? I clearly believe that there must be other planets with life and perhaps ever some with a civilization, dunno if it more advance than ours though.

tbh i believe in a god. not really a "god" but more like a creator. i dont believe in him as these religions do..."hes this guy that watches over the earth, and you will go to hell if you do this or do that". that i dont believe in. i just think of him as a creator of the universe and what we do with our planet and our lives is totaly up to us. the creator has no influence on what the outcome should or will be. if im correct i think thats what the native americans believed in. but think about it, everything is so perfectly made for there not to be a creator. all of this just couldnt have happened by it self

there has to be life out there, some may be more intelligent than us.
